Ban Tights! NBA stupidity

I agree, they should be allowed to wear them for medical reasons. But if it is just to stand out or be different, I dont see the point. I thought Basketball was a team sport? I have always been for continuity in uniforms for all players. The size thing seems wierd to me, but I think it is better when all players look the same and you dont have playes like Sean Tayler wearing different socks to "stand out"

I'm thinking that in general the article is blowing things up bigger than they are. They have said that if it is medical then you can wear them which is seems like in general is why most of the guys were wearing them. So it probally won't be hard for the players to get a doctor to say it is for medical reasons. I would think a team would encourage their doctors to give the players a medical release esp. if it is something like Stackhouse who has not had the problems he had the last few years.

Add into who is making the stuff(I'm not sure who is now) and there will be a push. Just think how much money underarmor has made since they have become big in the nfl.

The problem with this is what if one doesn't have a documented medical reason like Stackhouse did. What if the reason for wearing them is simply to keep the muscles warm and prevent injury? I guess that a doctor could give a blanket statement that tights keep muscles warm and prevent injuries which would allow all players to wear them, but then the whole point of this "rule" would be neutered.

Stupid idea by a stupid league. If only MLB had such mundane things to "worry" about.
