Eddie Murphy is set to play The Riddler in the new Batman film | The Sun |Showbiz|Bizarre

FUNNYMAN EDDIE MURPHY will play The Riddler in the next Batman movie, The Sun can reveal.

...rising Transformers star SHIA LABEOUF, 22, to play Robin.
...
CHRISTIAN BALE will return as Bruce Wayne, while MICHAEL CAINE will again play Bruce?s assistant Alfred.
Meanwhile, Brit RACHEL WEISZ is said to be up for the Catwoman role.
I absolutely loved The Dark Knight and was a fan of Batman Begins. I dont know if I am excited about a new one so fast. I would imagine they are going to stick with the darker theme, which has been working.

Edit: for those of us who don't know who Rachel Weisz is...

Not good if true. I like the direction the Batman films are taking. The darker, everything's not about the good guy winning and getting the girl theme is fantastic. With the new tone of the series I was in favor of a rumor I heard about Johnny Depp playing the Riddler and Philip Seymour Hoffman playing the Penguin. These two characters are very "dark" and fit the mode. Depp and Hoffman are also very well renouned actors. The Murphy/Weisz combo doesn't appeal to me NEARLY as much. Little dissappointed in the casting.

They would only do that shit if A) they wanted the movie to fail or B) Joel Shumacher were doing it.

I love Rachel Weisz, though. Great actress. Just don't do fucking Robin, Catwoman, or Eddie Murphy, please, movie makers.

Holy smokes! "Batman" nabs suspect for British police

A mystery man dressed as Batman demonstrated the same crime-fighting skills as the caped crusader when he handed over a suspect wanted for burglary in Britain.
Closed-circuit television footage showed a portly figure wearing an ill-fitting costume including gloves, cape and mask, bringing a 27-year-old man to a police station in Bradford in northern England.
The suspect was arrested and charged with handling stolen goods and fraud-related offences, said the force. But the costumed crime-fighter disappeared into the night without leaving his name.
"The person who brought the wanted man into the station was dressed in a full Batman outfit," said a spokeswoman for West Yorkshire Police. "His identity, however, remains unknown."
The suspect was handed over in the early hours of February 25, said police who released photos of the footage on Monday.

British "Batman" turns out to be Stan the delivery man

It wasn't Batman, it was a joker. A day after making headlines around the world for handing over a suspect to police dressed as Batman, the identity of Britain's mysterious caped crusader has been revealed as Stan, a takeaway food delivery man.
Police in Bradford, northern England, were baffled when a portly figure in an ill-fitting Batman costume brought them a 27-year-old man wanted for burglary in the early hours of February 25 before disappearing into the night.

I thought all of the Batman movies were terrible. The first one started out really well - very dark and mysterious. The first hour was extremely well done. But the second hour degenerated into One Flew Over the Joker's Nest. Nothing but Nicholson strutting around chewing the scenery like he was still living in the '60s. In my opinion, Cesar Romero did that part a lot better. Anyway, then the final confrontation was a huge letdown - pretty much ruined the movie for me.
