Game Thread BCS Championship Game, tOSU vs. Florida - Jan 8th

Yes, they played better than us. But I truly feel something wasn't right during the course of the game. I didn't see the emotion, the passion or the heart that we displayed all season long. I believe Florida would have won regardless, but the lack of intensity on the part of OSU played a major role in that final score. My $.02 worth.

Well said. That is the only sticking part for me...

Losing sucks...it always will.

However, that was not the same team out there.

I'm not exactly mad because we lost im mad because of how we lost. I always prepare for the worst regardless of who we are playing and this was definately the worst we could have played. But it seems like we have a great 2007 season on it's way.

It definately was the worst way we could have played. We had nothing going for us at all.

Time to revive the OSU - UKY series. Drop YSU NOW! that's like one of those cheesy OOC games that Auburn and Kansas State have made famous. We need to beat someone in the SEC before this streak gets any longer and I can't think of a better, more logical place to begin.

I don't know why I read this thread every time there's a new post. Maybe it's some masochistic side of me who has grown so used to winning over the past few years that he needs to feel the cooper sting again, or maybe part of me still thinks this is all a dream and I will wake up and the championship game will be tomorrow.

I guess I just don't want to deal with reality :)

I tried to stay away from this thread since the game, I don't want to be a homer and try to defend what was so obvious on the field. We got our asses kicked and worse yet, what Tress did to Coker, Meyer did to Tress on a much larger scale.

My only hopes from this game are this; that all future Buckeye classes remember not to get ahead, that there is no such thing as an unbeatable team.

I thank this class for the years entertainment, and I thank Troy Smith for coming to tOSU and becoming the beloved wolverine-slayer. My hats off to Florida and their coaching staff.

Good luck seniors, I hope to see and root for many of you in the NFL.

This is the last I will visit this thread, but I have read every post, and thought over everything said, from the people who logged in to post once to the shell shocked die-hards who couldn't believe what happened. Next year is a new year, and we saw what Tress could do with Coopers recruits, so I have no doubt that regardless of this game, we will be strong next year.

2 championship-game gate crashers face OSU student-discipline hearing

Friday, January 26, 2007John Campanelli
Plain Dealer Reporter
Ohio State football fans still probably want to press charges against the Buckeyes for not bothering to show up for the BCS Championship Game.
Meanwhile, the university may be disciplining two students who did everything they could to show up - including sneaking into the game without tickets.
Will Manzeo of Cleveland and Anthony Florig of Youngstown, both 21, sneaked into the national championship game in Glendale, Ariz., on Jan. 8 - a 41-14 trouncing by the Florida Gators. Their gate-crashing and other exploits were chronicled in The Plain Dealer in a series of articles following their weeklong ride West.

I am one of those fans I was at the game and what a waste of money it was.

Need a little help here

I hate to bring this game up, but some things are bothering me. I watched this game in January. I seem to remember (other than the opening kickoff) a serious lack of passion and intensity by the scarlet and gray. They just didn't seem to be playing at game speed, they were reacting much slower than usual, and at times they looked lost. Having watched every game last season I am confident that the result of that game was an aberration.

With that being said, I've read so many articles and heard so many talking heads talking about tOSU being too slow on both sides of the ball, completely lacking in team speed etc. I understand that these experts are retarded for the most part, but do people actually believe that Florida won that game because they were faster? Are people actually that stupid? Or am I that stupid because I think tOSU was at least as fast as every other team in the nation- they simply played an uninspired game when it counted the most?

I think it was a little bit of both. I think Florida was faster on the lines (which is not to say that OSU was slow or that Florida was worlds faster or that their advantage was in any way related to them being from the South). I also think OSU wasn't mentally sharp.
