Agree that there was a great defensive play in there...but I could swear he had two chances at the ball. Could be wrong...not going to watch it again to be sure either.

I pretty sure that is correct as well. Certainly, if he had controlled it before Jackson made the play on it; it would have been a TD. I'm pretty sure he had a grab at it after the poke, but he was on his way out of bounds and I'm not sure he could have gotten a foot down. I honestly thought JT should have thrown the red flag on that one just to make sure it was reviewed, but having only seen the one replay it looked like a good call. FWIW, JT even referred to it as a "drop" in the post-game comments.

I would have to disagree with you on the SEC chanting. I have seen it many times both at home and on the road by LSU fans as well as other SEC school fans. It didn't have anything to do with OSU's record against SEC teams. SEC fans show pride in the conference, that's a good thing. SEC fans will almost always root for an SEC team against a team from another conference, even if it's their biggest SEC rival.
You hit the nail on the head exactly. We always root for the other SEC teams when they play team from other conferences. It's almost like a family thing. We can beat the shit out of each other, but we're for each other when it's against somone else. Maybe SEC fans are unique in that respect.

Did anyone else notice after the half when Ohio took the field the cheerleaders mispelled Ohio - OOHI.

But holy shit those were some giant flags. I think our cheerleaders had flag envy :)

Mods,

sorry if this has been posted elsewhere. I have to say that I was very dissapointed in reading this, I know many of us, myself included, were en route from NOLA, but still.

The Enquirer - Disappointed OSU squad back home
Dissapointed to read the players were upset? Did you think after finishing second again they were going to be pumped up? C'mon, give these guys a break.. they feel they let buckeye nation down..

maybe you should go read the article how hartline wanted to get all the fans together just so he could say he was sorry, instead of busting their balls for looking "sheepish" according to the article.

It's the truth. How many years do you have to see more athletic players take over a national title game? There is a reason the offensive line has been mangled the past two years, and it's not because FL/LSU had less athletic lines. Wide out's couldn't get open the past two years...Oline couldn't block...umm yea there is a difference in talent regardless of what side of the country you are from...It's hard to simulate that kind of speed and athleticism...I mean OVERALL..Not just comparing one player to the next..

The offensive line not being able to block obviously explains Beanie's 146 yards, and over 7 YPC average.

The Buckeyes could matchup talent wise with ANYONE in the country, especially when you look at our incoming class this year.

You should let the NFL know about this.

Do you honestly believe that? Beanie could have ran all day long, and had a couple fantastic gains, but the pass blocking was non existant. It didn't help matters that TB wanted to write a novel while he was standing there..or before he would take off for a 1 yard scamper There is a reason receivers were never open. There is a reason TB wouldn't throw the ball. Just like TS didn't a few years ago against florida...Two years ago they could match up with anyone in the country and their offensive line was humiliated in a national title game as well if you remember correctly by a team that didn't appear to be playing on the same level as OSU. If OSU's defense would have performed like LSU's then we would have never stopped hearing how this could be the best defense in OSU history..It's just different when it's the other team..Stats are overlooked and excuses are made.

LSU had more depth and more talent overall this year, and were better coached. That's how teams win..OSU didn't "give" that game away. LSU took it from them. There is a difference. It was apparent when OSU's defense couldn't contain anyone on LSU's offense. Were we watching the same game?
