Best and Worst Things in Your Trick-or-Treat Bag.

A lady invited the kids in and gave us donuts and hot cider. It was great, because it would warm us up - we would stay out a long time back in the day, canvassing neighborhoods after mapping out the most efficient route.

I see those little pumpkins that kids are supposed to use now, and think "What the hell - we used to get 10 times that much candy."

Saw some guys the other night getting out of their car with trash bags. They would sprint between houses, then run back to the car after about 10 minutes and dump their bags into a bigger bag in the trunk. They did that about 3 times then got in their car and drove over a couple streets (I saw them running between houses again). They must have filled a 55 gallon trash bag with candy. Would have paid money to be there when they tried to get it out of the trunk

mary-janes, any cheap ass candy. two-guy's pizza shop on hudson ave in newark, ohio, used to give out slices. it aint candy, but damn it was good pizza. someone handed out cadbury eggs from the easter before. IF they survived the night in the pillow case, they would be stale as hell. nasty.

My friends' neighborhood had a house that gave out silver dollars. Man oh man, that was the coolest!

There was a house on the street behind ours - really more like a shack, and people said that most of it was underground - that would feed cats in the neighborhood. Counted 24 black cats on the front porch once. Every now and then one would wander up and move in to a house on our block, which is why we always had black cats. Always wanted to use one as a prop on Halloween, but they were too ornery because we kept them indoors all week just in case anyone decided it was a good week to hurt black cats. But we did have people coming out of fake graves and a ghost that would swing out of the trees and hit people on the head.

There was another abandoned house on that street. I used to have recurring nightmares of Sesame Street characters living there. Evil Burt... I've seen farks since, but this was long before that. I think there is something to it. Shifty eyes.

If you were looking for a point to these stories, stop it and have a chip. But if you want a second helping, you'd better switch to a new costume.

BOO!
