OK, this is going to sound sexist but personally there are very few ladies that know how to play an instrument worth a shit. I am NOT referring to singers, Crissy Hinde and Janis can wail. I am talking playing in the band.

I am talking mainly in the Rock genre, lots of females are phenominal classical pianist or double basoon players. Not many know how to schred a guitar or bang the skins.

I have two that come to mind that I would catigorize as "great" rock musicians by any measure. I am sure there are more.

Susan Tedeshi. Married to Derrick Trucks. She can flat out play and can sing to boot. She kicks Bonnie Raits ass.

Tal Wilkenfield. Jeff Becks bass player. Voted as the most exciting new bassist by Bass Player Magazine in 2008. She is freeken great. Slaps, plays dirty, can play fusion and rock like Stanley Clark.
