I was born in St. Louis, and my parents to this day still bitch about Imo's. They claim it's the worst pizza on the planet.

I have not had the (unfortunate?) opportunity to try it.

The first time I tried the pizza I hated it. The sauce and kind of cheese was different from what I was used to.

When I'm back in Ohio, I love Donatos (love a thin crust pizza), and have to order a sub from Leaning Tower in Mansfield. In Sandusky it's gotta be Chett & Matt's.

I have not been to Leaning Tower in years, but it used to be fantastic. The subs from Napoli's in Shelby are damn tasty as well.

When in Hilton Head, I go for Bella's. They pull the pie out about 3/4 of the way done and add another layer of cheese to it and finish baking it.....Yeah!

Still looking for really good pizza here in Indy, so far Jockamo's is the best I have found....

I've seen others handle the Chicago-area, and I absolutely loved Giordano's.

Indy? Not that many options that I would say stand out, but Bazbeaux's is great for some gourmet pies. Definitely the best in the circle city. Donato's is where it's at as far as chains.

Bloomington- Mother Bear's pizza is a must. It's actually been in the running for some top National awards. Aver's pizza is probably next. The rest are best left for drunken late night specials only.

(I'm also in the group that says "any pizza is good pizza", FYI)

Since we have a thread on worst pizza, we need one for best pizza.

The original Wedgewood Pizza in Austintown. They won an award for best pizza in the entire country back in '80s, and it still tastes the same. When I come back for The Game this November, I'm flying into Cleveland instead of C-Bus so I can make a detour stop at Wedgewood on the way down from Cleveland to C-Bus.

Let me know when, I'll stop and have a slice with you if I can

New Haven pizza at Sally's or Pepe's on Wooster Street! Talking about pizza without showing a picture is like talking about sexy women! A no-no and against everything BP! Sally's and Pepe's cook their pizza in coal fired ovens that run continuously.

Tristano's for Chicago-style. 1/4 mile from our house and a very solid beer selection.

How does it compare to the original? We tried the Grove City one last year and weren't wow'ed, but I don't know the original at all.

I don't know personally, I haven't been there yet. As AKAK pointed out I live way north near Alum Creek so Grovetucky is nearly an hour from my house. I have heard its not as good as the original.
