Bethune-Cookman Series @ Daytona Beach, FL (FIRE BEALS)

Buckeye Baseball team breaks out the offense in route of Bethune-Cookman
osu-baseball.jpg

The Ohio State baseball team dropped the first game of a four-game weekend series against Bethune-Cookman in Daytona Beach, Florida, but came back to take the last two and are guaranteed at least a split now.

And it wasn’t close Sunday.

The Buckeyes pounded out a slew of hits and got things going right out of the gate in a dominating 16-9 victory. In the top of the first inning, Ohio State put a six spot on the board thanks to a couple of bases loaded walks, a wild pitch, a sacrifice fly and two RBI singles by Zach Dezenzo and Nolan Clegg.

The offense for Ohio State kept coming and the issues with control on the mound continued for the Wildcats to contribute to a 10-1 lead when Noah West tripled home three more in the top of the second to build a 13-1 lead for the Bucks.

From there, it was really cruise control for the Buckeyes. The pitching gave up eight more runs in the game, but that wouldn’t be enough on a day when the bats were clicking for Ohio State.

The Buckeyes improved their record to 7-4 with the victory with one game left in Daytona. The last game of the series will be played Monday, but please make note of the game time change to Noon because of some expected weather in somewhat sunny Florida.

Bucks down 8-3 top 8.

We are about to split a 4 game series with Bethune Cookman.

we arent good at baseball

ttun, illinois, maryland, etc all field good teams that challenge for super regional berths and top 25 status every year and it feels like pulling teeth for our boys to even make the tourney. i know we have some success out of the blue some seasons but overall we are not even average in an average league. Ohio produces tons of talent witnessed by the success of schools like kent, wright st, etc so wtf is OSU's problem? football shadow? Dont tell me its impossible to be better than what we are bc I dont believe that. ugh. rant over
