I had a hard time believing that Green was the only unanimous first-team selection. I wonder what idiots did not think that Sullinger belonged on the first-team.
Jared was pretty inconsistent this year, it's not surprising, to me, that he wasn't a unanimous selection. He had some pretty bad games, and tended to disappear for long stretches. He was still dominant at times, but I think he took a step backwards this year.

Feel bad for the guy. His players were very selfish this season.

It wasn't just this year that got him fired. The Illini have been underachieving for over half a decade. He won a lot his first three years with Self's recruits, but they've been pretty mediocre (121-85 Overall, 50-49 B1G, 1 Tournament win, 3 years missing the tourney) the last six years...since he's been without Self's players.

.
I guess Who from the second-team would replace him. Also, Sullinger is one of the 15 finalists for the Wooden award. It just doesn't make any sense for someone not to vote for him to be on the first team. The reason he has disappeared sometimes this season is because sometimes his teammates forgot about him.

That's not necessarily true. Jared admitted after the scUM game he's been distracted at times this year...

PLEASE!!!

I don't want them to touch Groce!!!
I had the pleasure of dealing with the Coaching staff a few years ago. While I liked all the Coaches, I really enjoyed our time with Groce. It was easy to see why the kids love him. Such a great personality and treated everybody, even us losers, like we were his friends. It was cool experience and I wish nothing but the best for him.

Carmody would have to be let go and I really don't see that happening. I think that he is an excellent coach for the guys that he can recruit. If Collins would take the illinois job who would do the halftime interviews when [censored]ing Duke does a televised game since it is beneath Coach K.:tongue2:

Cronin, from Cincinnati, used to work with the AD from Illinois. In fact, I think he might have even hired him at UC .

I don't see why Illinois would favor Collins. I mean, has he even coached anywhere as the head coach? I don't think Coach K's "disciples" have done very well when they have branched off to their own jobs. I still like guys like Shaka Smart and Frank Martin well ahead of Collins for the Illinois job. And even with the unsavory booting of recruits off the team, I think Buzz Williams would be a better hire than Collins for Illinois. I can see Collins making sense at Northwestern, but I'm not in favor of them letting Carmody go at this point - they need to upgrade their facilities before changing the head coach there.

Shaka Smart to be Illinois coach.

Three B1G teams clinch Sweet 16 bids and scUM is the only B1G team to lose so far.

How good is the BiG?! Wow, what a showing in this tournament.

Its not even close who the best conference is. Kentucky and UNC might be a step above but if they have to play multiple BiG teams to get there, they might stumble. They'll certainly be battered and bruised.
