One thing that I actually enjoy while watching (since I only watch BTN's pregame on Saturdays), DiNardo and Griffith haven't adopted ESPiN's "Embrace Debate" stance and taken the complete opposite view on every subject.

DiNardo and Griffith actually agree on things.

Doing our Spring Game a few years back, Mike Tomczak wasn't half-bad on that game on BTN (if they need game analysts). But he's an agent and current coaches arena ball.

If I were a football player, no doubt I'd love to play for Gruden. And there's nothing wrong at all with a positive spin; I'm sick to death of negativism.

But could someone just get him to do some of this?

This matches my view on Gruden. I think he's insightful, but he's always turned up to 11. Before long, listening fatigue sets in for me. Even Gus Johnson finds a way to turn it down to 8 or 9 some of the time.

Friggin BTN is screwed up! Supposed to be watching OSU at Michigan State, so what do we get? The TSUN game! Wanted the OCC games but that started early, also! 12am! Didn't find out about it till this morning. Damn!

January primetime ratings are BTN?s highest ever

January 2013 marked the Big Ten Network's highest-rated month ever in primetime, according to Nielsen metered market data, fueled by high-quality men's basketball matchups and strong performance of The Journey, which also set new ratings records. BTN's average primetime men's conference basketball rating was 0.87 in the network's eight metered markets*. Among all national sports networks for the month, BTN trailed only ESPN in its eight metered markets.

While they could be borrowing some of Fox's NFL rigs during the offseason, did anyone notice the huge upgrade in picture quality during the Nebraska spring game?

The Journey has always had great video cameras, but the regular BTN game broadcasts have always been second or third rate in terms of video feed. It is widescreen HD format but is both pixelated and overly sharpened.

Someone in this thread posted that they hoped that Fox would sell/hand off their old HD cameras at some point and I'm wondering if that happened (or they simply had enough revenue to do it right).

Hey, leads to my theory that it's going to be FOX and CBS (basketball-only) next TV contract (for the Big Ten).

One thing I have noticed though, Chris Martin hasn't been on anything after his agent thingy. They've been using Derek Rackley instead (but I haven't been watching religiously, so I might've missed Martin).

Time Warner Cable to Offer Live Mobile TV for Apple Devices
By Alex Sherman - Apr 16, 2013 3:27 PM ET

Time Warner Cable Inc., the second- largest U.S. cable operator, is adding live out-of-home programming for the first time to its TWC TV application, letting customers watch shows on Apple Inc. (AAPL) mobile devices.

Time Warner Cable will make as many as 11 live national news, sports and entertainment channels available outside the home starting at 10 a.m. New York time tomorrow, according to Maureen Huff, a company spokeswoman. They include the Big Ten Network, the Pac-12 Network, TV Guide Network and BBC America. In addition, customers will have access to some local channels, including NY1 for New Yorkers. The programming will be available for Apple?s iPad, iPad Mini, iPhone and iPod Touch.

CONT...

Up until now, you had to be on your home's TWC wi-fi network to watch live TV thru these apps. Now it's TV everywhere for this small handful of channels. Don't know that this changes much for people since TWC customers already had access to the same feed thru the BTN 2Go app, but it's nice to see the network at the front of a change like this for a large carrier. As a user of both the TWC app and the BTN app, I'll probably switch to start watching thru the TWC app since I don't have to enter my login info ever damn time I try to use it.
