Yeah. Equal time to get ready. Other than two teams get byes. So, you know, the semifinals would be the equivalent of 2 teams that played an extra game (kind of like a conference championship game) vs. 2 teams that didn't. Doesn't seem like equal amount of time to me but it makes the argument sound better so let's go with that.

Bowlsby sees tiebreaker to determine champ in Big 12’s future

While nothing is official as of yet, commissioner Bob Bowlsby appears fairly confident that his bosses will adopt a tie-breaker procedure that would allow the league to present to the CFP committee, ahem, “One True Champion.” Athletic directors from the conference will meet in Kansas City this Thursday, and Bowlsby believes that what is likely a vast majority of conference members are in favor of declaring one champ when it comes to football.

Haha, had TCU beaten Baylor and lost to WVU, then the Big 12 would have submitted TCU as their champion per their existing tiebreaker. As Baylor won the tiebreaker, but TCU was higher ranked and passed the eyeball test the tiebreaker magically disappeared to not jeopardize TCUs shot.
