Wow...last I heard on the way in this morning, they said a tour bus had crashed. (The crash site is not on my commute.) This is terrible.

Bluffton's football coach was just at our school recruiting a kid for football and baseball. As someone who was tangetially involved in a tragic bus crash last year, this brought back some disturbing memories. My prayers are w/ the team and their families.

I just saw this too... I grew up 10 minutes from Bluffton and my wife went to the university for a year... prayers go out to the families.

They said players that survived were just walking around in a daze around the crash scene.

I'm assuming the driver fell asleep or something?

This is terrible news for our entire community. We have a little more then 1,000 at the school and less than 4,000 in our community. My daughter has spent some time at community events with the boys and they are all top notch Christian kids. Everyone keep the family in your prayers.

I just heard from my wife who says a kid from our church was on the team but was cut just before this trip.

Just received more info on the wreck:

The bus driver, his wife, a grad assistant, and one current player are among the 6 that died.

The head coach has a broken jaw and broken leg.

That's what I have so far.

Sears...my wife confirms everything you have said and the coach is having some surgery right now based on some second hand information she has been told.

That's a terrible thing. I grew up pretty near Bluffton, my sister graduated from there, and I'm pretty close to college baseball so it hits pretty close. My thoughts go out to those lost and best wishes to the rest involved, just a shame.
