It was actually $75,000 from an Alumni/booster that tried to get Knight to accept the money from an earlier lawsuit. He rejected the school's settlement money, so the other source (alumni) thought maybe he could get him to accept it. Knight said something along the lines of "I never accepted money from an Alumni while I was there and I see no reason to ever do."

Also, this news comes in a week where the University and AD Fred Glass have been working on getting Knight back for his IU Athletic Hall of Fame ceremony. He declined yesterday.

? Former Indiana coach Bob Knight will not attend next week's induction into the university athletic department's hall of fame.

Athletic director Fred Glass said that Knight contacted him directly to decline the invitation. Glass said that Knight was concerned that the interest in him would be a distraction from the other six inductees.

Bobby Knight Says College Hoops Lacks Integrity, Cites Calipari
During a fundraiser for the Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame, Knight said he doesn't understand why Calipari is still coaching.
Reporter: The Associated Press

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - Bobby Knight said integrity is lacking in college basketball and cited Kentucky coach John Calipari as an example.

During a fundraiser for the Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame, Knight said he doesn't understand why Calipari is still coaching.

"We've gotten into this situation where integrity is really lacking and that's why I'm glad I'm not coaching," he said. "You see we've got a coach at Kentucky who put two schools on probation and he's still coaching. I really don't understand that."

You can say a lot of things about Knight, but lacks integrity and dishonest are not among them. He hit the nail on the head, it appears obvious that with College Football and Basketball being such big money makers, that some "institutions of higher learning" will go the Enron route to winning.
