"Bonnie" and "Charlie"

Well, you won't be hearing from the SW florida guys for a while...over 300K people without electricity-its all the way up to the Kissimmee area and still a cat 3-4 which can do some serious damage.

The only fatality I have heard of was on I-75, someone fleeing the storm got in a wreck so they are calling it the first death due to Charlie.

For those of us up in NE florida somewhere around midnight we are supposed to get an hour or two of sustained 90mph+ winds. The only real danger is tornado's and flooding which we all know already but 90mph isn't something to take all that lightly-stay away from windows and such if you can.

Down here in St Augustine we have only had the initial outer bands but one was kind of hairy...no biggie but if thats the entree I'll pass on the main course.

Probably a lot of sound and fury signifying nothing but be safe all the same...those of you doing a bit of hurricane partying enjoy. I'm just going to hang here as long as I have power.

We got high winds and rain but the major parts missed us by a few miles. I think the eye passes about 30-35 miles away. Look like we were pretty lucky. I know we've heard a lot of reports of damage from the Ft. Myers area where it came inland.

Jax, sounds like you all (in St. Aug) are going to get hit a bit more directly than we are. What I'm hearing now is sustained winds at 90mph, which is an upgrade from the 75mph gusts we were hearing earlier.

I'm in Duval county (as is Kippy I believe), so I guess we're looking at the worst between midnight and 2.

Anyway, hang in there down in St. John's. I'm just hoping we have power tomorrow morning.

I have a lot of damage at my weekend house in Sanibel. I was over in Puta Gorda at 6:00 am , it looks like a war zone. There will be 100+ dead from all of this.

The storm went from here to Orlando, to Jacksonville. There are a lot of retired folks trailers between here and there. Hopefully they evacuated.

But from Sanibel & Pine Island, the storm did a lot of damage, but no deaths that I have heard of.
