Hayward played 6 minutes all season and now Irving is out for the rest of it, including playoffs. Let's go, Pens!

I'm not sure what the word or phrase is to describe the following scenario:

Trying to force a trade from one team to another, and in order to do so, threaten to sit out due to having a knee surgery that you say isn't really needed.
Receive the requested trade, and have to miss the postseason and an additional 2 months due to having to have a necessary knee surgery which is far more involved than the procedure used as a bargaining tool 8 months ago.
