WAR isn't one of the available categories, which is fine with me because it's more of an estimate/projection than a statistic.

The Ks/9 was added because of the increased moves. You have more flexibility, but just piling up Ks won't work if the ratio is bad. I like the idea of QS over Ks, because it does require good pitching rather than just more pitching. Of course, ERA and WHIP also negate just streaming for Ks.

I like the Quality Start option, probably more than anything.

By the way, we've got our 10th team so I randomized the schedule. The schedule is slightly unbalanced because the playoffs were moved up a week. Still not crazy about that aspect, but I also hate seeing championship week decided by scrubs while studs are rested for the playoffs or just shutdown.

Okay, made a few tweaks based off chat here. As it stands now we have 7 hitting categories and 7 pitching - last year we had 6 of each. For both hitting and pitching there are 4 counting categories and 3 statistical ones. So while you have more flexibility with the moves increase, you can't just pile up ABs and innings because the stat cats will bite you if you're not careful. Each manager can decide how often they wish to roll the dice.

As for the trade limit of 25, no one made even 20 trades last year - it just seemed like it at times. :lol:

A couple more things, you'll notice there are fewer roster spots. When injuries strike you may even find a half decent guy on the waiver wire. Also, there are more "NA" spots to stash that can't miss prospect who will probably disappoint you.

Not crazy about this talk of six-man rotations. One start per week, and no more than 100 pitches - let's pay the guy $150 million.

No wonder old timers think they would beat today's players. They were a lot tougher. They had to be.

So, looking at the league settings, I see no more general OF position, only two utility positions (instead of three) and 5 bench spots (split among offense and pitching) total? Is this right?

And this might have been covered already but no divisions this year?

Edit: okay, after reading the post from @Jake a few posts up, I see fewer roster spots mentioned.

I haven't had a lot of feedback on the roster spots and am open to suggestions. I'm trying to walk the line of having nothing but scrubs on the waiver wire - because it then comes down to who is lucky enough to stay healthy - and having borderline all stars available to stream.

I can live with whatever everyone else is living with. I only know one format and that was last years but that obviously isn’t anything I’ve been doing for 10 years running. I just want to make sure I have a grasp on what it’s shaping up as.

3 OF spots instead of four
2 UTIL instead of three
5 total bench spots outside of the starting lineup of 8 position players, 2 UTIL and 8 pitcher spots
No divisions
Extra NA spots to find the next Rhys Hoskins :) or the next Yoan Moncada :(
And don’t drop Andrew McCutchen after like two months of futility.

It leaves 20 hitters and 10 pitchers/hitters on the waiver wire that weren't there last year. I'm considering putting back the 3rd utility spot leaving only 20 additional players, at least 10 of whom are hitters. Hoping to finalize everything by the end of this week.

Whichever works for me. I found some real gems on the waiver/FA last year as it was. Not gonna find another Aaron Judge but who is?
