Bracketology and Selection Sunday Discussion

I wouldn't pick Belmont as an at-large if it was me. They lost only 5 times, but played a super weak schedule and three of their losses were to teams not even in the top-100, and their best wins were against Lipscomb. I don't think the talent level at Belmont is truly on par with that of the middling power conference teams. They would be out in my book.
If we are comparing Indiana and Belmont and you ask me which is the better team, I am picking Indiana. I get that Belmont had a very good season, but at the end of the day the whole point of having at-large bids is to include the best teams available.

Looks like the NIT field will be tilted even more heavily to mid-majors than it has been lately. Already Campbell, Belmont, Loyola (IL), Drake, and Radford have earned NIT bids by virtue of their regular season titles, and all have lost in their conference tourneys while none have a great chance of making the NCAA tourney as an at-large. .
