Musberger: Love him or hate him?

I wouldn't say I love the guy, but I like the way he calls college games in general, and his "Holy Buckeye!" call is a huge part of our 2002 national championship season, like it or not. Too bad Danielson bailed...they were a great team.

As a pure announcer, I think Brad Nessler is my favorite for the college game, but Musberger's quirks make him fun to listen to.

I used to not like Nessler, but lately he has kind of grown on me...

Can I vote for "Love to punch him in the throat". Needless to say I can't stand him. I will have to say that it was good of him to never rip the Bucks with all that crap that 13 brouhgt but everytime he calls The Game I just sit back and laugh about how pro scUM he is. I was listening before the game to ESPN raido and one of their guys was talking and he developed his own game. Guess who Brent laid his money on. He was right you can tell who he is pulling for in the first 10 minutes of the game. At least of course he does call the college game unlike this group that is calling the Sugar Bowl.

Irrelevant

He can fill up air time, but so what. A few years ago at the opening of The Game he called The 'Shoe that other stadium up which houses that team from up North. From then on he has reminded me of the parents from Charlie Brown Whaaa Wha Wha Wha Wha Wha Wha... I don't even hear him anymore. Background noise.:osu:

That is funny, you must get a different feed than the rest of us do. Pro Michigan? Go to GBW and say how "pro Michigan" Musburger is, they hate him and how he is homerish toward OSU.

After watching Fox's coverage...

I like BM even more. (Brent Musberger, not bowel movements... well both really)

The talking head commentary was irrelevant and repetitive during the whole game - I actually muted my TV which I don't think I've ever done before during a college football game.

God bless Brent Musberger!

In the Fiesta Bowl last year, loved the way Weis was "The Little Tuna", "The Guru", gag, gag, gag, then did a "180" to Tressel, who was all of a sudden a genius. :tongue2:

Musburger's 180-degree turns can be sudden and downright painful. The older he gets I don't think he even realizes how often he contradicts himself. Paraphrasing...

After a decent gain: Folks, nobody can bring down [insert running back's name], he's just un-stoppable.

On the next stop: Boy, you just can't run against this defense.

After Brady Quinn hit Rhema McKnight for a 40-odd yard pickup in the third quarter of this year's ND/USC game, I distinctly remember Brent commenting "he's dropped some big balls tonight". As they were lining up for the very next play, he notes McKnight again... "he's caught some big balls tonight".

It's enough to give you whiplash.

Dude is so frail he might break if he swung too hard.

I've posted it before but it bears repeating. Anyone who gets the raw satellite feed and hears him during commercial breaks just can't hate him or think he's anti OSU. Add in the Holy Buckeye call and he's #1 in my book.

Love him.(platonic style not Amaechi style)
