Brent stays secure in the broadcast booth in stiff competition. Of course, he's more likeable when he's on the Buckeye side of the 50...which has evolved over the Tressel years. He always strives for a catchy phrase that will stick to the wall.
This sums it up pretty well. The endless quest for creating a timeless phrase can be a bit annoying, however.

I just hate how every word used during a play is 6,000 letters long.

OVER THE MIDDLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLE
 So true...

I always used to hate him. My favorite part of "the Waterboy" was when Dan Fouts says, "Shut up, Brent!" It's pretty funny. I like to say that when I'm watching one of his games.

But then I decided he's not so bad. He gets the players' names right (most of the time). He seems to know what a football is, and his voise doesn't make me want to kick any small dogs.

Many other announcers are terrible! No - I don't have examples. But I can't stand watching a game when "Bam Childress" becomes "Barn Childress," or some other way to screw up someone's name, or when the announcer can't figure out why it was just 2nd down, and now it's 3rd down.

I also used to think that he was anti-Ohio State. But after hearing some of Jack Arute's "College Coaches Show," on Sirius radio last fall, he said that it's funny how Ohio State fans think he's anti-Ohio State, and Michigan fans think he's anti-Michigan, and all the other teams think he's anti-their team. I think that maybe that's the sign that he's really not for one team or the other.

So I answered "indifferent." I don't watch the game for the announcers. I watch for the teams.

Maybe it's Voodoo magic, but Musberger's letting up on OSU

Thoughts and observations on the weekend's college football, as I wonder how Joe Paterno knows what's going on in the games without a headset:
? I can understand why Ohio State fans have thought for years that Brent Musberger has it out for them. But if you listened to him on Saturday during Ohio State-Penn State, he's drinking the OSU Kool-Aid. There are some I know who have Musberger Voodoo dolls.

Brent and Kirk are a pretty good announcer team as they seem work pretty well together. A good color man makes the play by plan man better and vice versa. Maybe if he was with someone else, I wouldn't like him as well.

Also, the female reporter(s) on the sideline only improve the rest of the broadcasting team if she is HOT!!!
