Brian "Body Kount" Kelly (HC Louisiana State)

You know, your comment really is the interesting storyline here. He publicly says it is not a coaching problem and then fires a coach in less than 24 hours. If I was a talk media host, I'd be all over this. You could kill a couple days on this alone.

You're assuming that ND is relevant enough to waste a couple of days on.

Suggestion for a new logo if that happens:

I have the utmost respect for Brian as both a person and football coach, but our defense simply isn't where it should be and I believe this change is necessary for the best interest of our program and our student-athletes.

In his post game speech Kelly said that none of his players played with fire in their belly. He was going to revisit every starter except the long snapper.

So why fire VanGorder? I always thought it was the OC who was responsible for "fire in the belly".

But I do agree that the HC is answerable for the long snapper.

Another fun fact to consider;

The past two years ('14 and '15 seasons)
ND's record against teams that finished the season with a winning record: 8-7
ND's record against teams that finished with a losing record: 10-1

Of the 8 wins against winning teams (that years record);
Rice (8-5)
Stanford (8-5)
Navy x 2 (8-5, 11-2)
LSU (8-5)
USC (8-6)
Temple (10-4)
Pitt (8-5)

So their best win, arguably, over the past 2 1/3 seasons is between beating a 10-4 Temple team or an 11-2 Navy team last year.

The 7 losses;
FSU (13-1)
Arizona St (10-3)
Louisville (9-4)
USC (9-4)
Clemson (14-1)
Stanford (12-2)
OSU (12-1)

They are hell on those teams that are barely above .500 or worse, not so much against teams with a pulse.

EDIT****

Or just say it like this;

vs teams that won 8 games or less: 16-1
vs teams that won 9 games or more: 2-7

There's not a single player on that team with the fire in their belly to do what's necessary for Notre Dame to win..........like drive a distraught rape victim to suicide.

What's under the Bus? 1. The 2010 Cincinnati football team - I ain't got time to coach you in your stupid BCS bowl game. I'm going to Notre Dame! 2. Lizzie Seeburg. 3. Declan Sullivan 4. Tommy Rees 5. Asst Coach David Grimes 6. Malik Zair 7. Brian VanGorder 8. the 2016 Notre Dame team - the long snapper

More bodies than found in John Wayne Gacy's place. I don't think there's any room left to throw anybody else under.
