I've got one.

Its a Jump .......to conclusions mat.
TOM
You know there are people in this world who don't have to put up with
all this shit? Like that guy that invented the pet rock. You see,
that's what you have to do. You have to use your mind and come up with
some really great idea like that and you never have to work again!

MICHAEL
I don't think the pet rock was really such a good idea.

TOM
The guy made a million dollars! Y'know… I had an idea like that once.

PETER
Really? What was it, Tom?

TOM
Well, all right. It was a Jump… to Conclusions-mat. You see, it would
be this mat that you would put on the floor and it would have different
conclusions written on it that you could…jump to.

MICHAEL
That is the worse idea I've ever heard in my life, Tom.

SAMIR
Yes, yes, it's horrible…this idea….

Yeah, dimming side view mirrors was done years ago by Mercedes. When I first drove one about 1998 I thought it was the greatest thing ever.

As for heated wipers, not sure how great they would work since they only touch the windshield for a split second at a time when they are moving. There are plenty of vehicles that have those heater bars (similar to the rear) on the windshield at the bottom near the wipers in order to melt ice off the wipers. Just take a look at a Chrysler minivan.

Can you tell I'm an automotive engineer...and a Buckeye stuck in Michigan.

For the plug thing, yeah, you can buy an engine block heater on almost all cars for $60. In Minnesota they have plugs in parking lots. If you can't get to a plug, there are devices you can buy for about $1000 that do it through other means. They keep the engine coolant warm while the car is not in use. Remote starters are also nice. For more advanced cars they also automatically turn on the defroster and heat for you before you get in.

Brilliant! Too bad it's been done. Sorry to be a downer.

Damn I suck as I go down this thread. The cable idea...been looked at. You end up paying $30-$40 anyway for less channels. Man, I love your guy's ideas. I hate to have to say they have been done.
