I think what the Browns need to do is trade the pick to a team that has multiple first round picks. Acquire 2 1st rounders this year and select either an OL, DB, LB with them, preferabley 2 OL. Then in the 2nd round cover DB, because Henry is a FA, and McCutcheon is at best a Nickel back in the NFL, who is being forced to start because of lack of depth. I would also try to find someone who could possibly trade for William Green, maybe get a 7th for him if at all possible.

We could easily trade this pic for a minimum of one second rounder.
Depending on who wants to deal, we may be able to trade twice and get 2 2nd rounders.
This team has so many holes to fill its unbelievable.
IMHO, the only logical choice is to trade down, and draft smart.

dallas and SD both have 2 1st rounders this year, so they are possibilities.

the more likely scenario would be to trade for an additional 2nd this year, and then another pick next year. either way, OL and DL are necessary.

Well-- the Borwns hosed themselves again- by winning of course..

The only way they were going to get a lot of value in this draft is if they got the 2 slot... (Which its my understanding they'll be 3)... and a Leinert/Rodgers bidding battle broke out... then they could have gotten something..(Or taken one of them)...

The rest of those guys are marginal picks at 3... either by talent or by position... IMO.

Well-- the good news is that.. more or less... They have a first round TE and second round S already wrapped up going into next year... that willb e like new picks. :wink2:

I would love to have Brooks or Johnson... but not necessarily at 3... and as much as they need OL... I think 3's too high for Ferguson....

Of course... this all depends on the GM... and then the coach...

If the GM ends up being Phil Savage... well you can bank that the wheeling and dealing for OL will begin.

AKAK #3 is certainly too high for an OL in this draft. However, i wouldnt be surprised if cleveland took one if they couldnt trade down.

it is very likely that one of if not both of benson and D. Johnson will be on the board at #3. There will be quite a few teams clamoring for a rb and big time playmaking lb.

of course, maybe a marginal top 10 pick has a superb combine and his stock soars.

my optimal scenario would be to trade down with dallas and get their #11 and #20 picks. then use #11 on OL (either barron, ferguson, or elton brown). the late 1st could be used for a cb, another OL, or a DL. Then pick Davis Baas with the 2nd round pick.

According to The Tuna's usual Modis operandi... he will probably be trying to get another #1... not giving someone two for one...

Bedsides the 'book' for a deal like that would probably be #3 and our second round pick for 11 and 20 (and then maybe a lower second or third)

You know this would be a lot more fun if they actually still traded players in the NFL... then maybe we could trade Benson (for example) for an OL and a lower pick... whatever... but it never happens... so...

At any rate... they need to get the BPA at 3 if they stay there... the best of an OL or CB if they go after 10... and the other of the one they didn't take with theri next pick...

They're still going to have to get an FA lineman regardless. Hey Orlando Pace will be available... again... (I'm guessing... he and the Rams love to one year tag him over and over. :wink2: )

i believe jerry jones has stated that dallas is probably looking to dump one of their 1st rounders.

if nothing else SD will probably be trying to dump one of theirs.

arizona would also be a likely candidate to move up to #3 to get cedric benson or a qb. cleveland could probably manage a trade down for thier 2nd.

I'm surprised that Tibor hasn't chimed in here.:)

The Browns need to draft a top flight athletic trainer for all of the injuries they had.

I look for the Browns to be playoff contenders next year if they are healthy. (Can't believe I'm saying this.)

Also, I'd like to see Robiskie get the job, seems like the players really like and respect him.

Yeah, Dallas isn't trading away either of their first rounders unless it's to trade down. San Diego won't trade up like that unless they can trade one first rounder and a second rounder..but it's still doubtful the move up.

I say the Browns hold there unless they move back only 4 maybe 5 spots maximum.

Robiskie, though loved, is not a head coach in the NFL. He just doesn't have it. He's a great guy but I hope to god he doesn't get the job. I still am hoping for an NFL assistant from a top team.

I guess Jerry forgot how the built their teams in the 90's... Dumbass.

Now SD... they do have limited needs... so I could see where they would be interested in going after one guy... and not a qb.... AZ is interesting.. they could use Benson... they could also use a bunch of other things.

Thump- You feeling okay?

at the #3 pick, the players that would make the most sense are:
Rodgers, Leinart - QB
Barron, Ferguson, Jamaal Brown - OT
Rolle - CB
Thomas Jones - FS
Ngata, Rodrique Wright - DT
Erasmus James - DE
Derrick Johnson - OLB

I think Rodgers, Leinart, Barron, Ferguson, or Erasmus James are the most worthy picks if they all come out.
