It was a toss up between the 1968 annihilation of Michigan and the Fiesta Bowl win over Miami, but I gave the nod to the Fiesta Bowl win because it ended such a long national title drought, and as BuckNutty said earlier it put all the assholes ("48-10" Tim Brando, etc.) who said we didn't belong on the same field as Miami in their place.

Mine isn't on the list. It's the "Holy Buckeye" game. That was the point where I knew it was a special season. That was the point where previous OSU teams would've f'ed it up. That team came through.
that is my single favorite Buckeye play... ever... even better than Keith Byars going 79 yards w/ one shoe... that train horn was going, but the Buckeye faithful weren't to be denied- whoo whoo- "GO BUCKS" whoo whoo- "GO BUCKS!!" ... "They're gonna show the I back behind the fullback here on 4th down... could be up to the offensive line- no. Krenzel's gonna throw for it. gotta get it off... They go for the ballgame! TOUCHDOWN! TOUCHDOWN! Michael Jenkins! On fourth and one! Would you believe it?!?! Craig Krenzel! Strikes! With a minute and a half left! HOLY BUCKEYE!!!!"

it gives me chills just thinking about it...

BTW, i just popped that tape in the VCR and watched it again!

close call. i went with the 03 Fiesta Bowl. beating an unbeatable dynasty capped an unbelievable season. runner up was the 97 Rose Bowl game. I was in 7th grade at the time and that started me on the trail to being an OSU fanatic!

it's like asking what was the most satisfying sex

All Buckeye victories are pretty orgasmatic, but like sex, having to wait a long time and doing something new seems to make it better, so the Tressel's first W in AA was pretty damn good.

In fact, beating Michigan anytime is like shagging the rich, snotty, school bully's hot girlfriend, shame-ing him into exile for a year and then realizing that the all the other girls in school have come to know just what kind of prodigy you really are..... (sorry to report that it never happened to me)...

Still, I think beating the Canes was even better.

I drove from Dallas to Atlanta (and back) in the two days before the National Championship game. I had to listen to 20 hours of Buckeye-bashing from every idiot across the South (and nationally) who had access to the public airwaves. (In fairness, the sports newscasters in Tuscaloosa predicted an OSU victory...I've liked Alabama much more since).

Hearing people choke on their own words for a month made the victory over Miami really satisfying. I got to gloat to my students (including about 10 football players at a D-1 program in the south) who dissed my Buckeyes all season long. That was very, very satisfying. I smile about it still today.

Thank you Buckeyes!

As much as I hate Michigan, the 31-24 OT win against Miami was most satisfying for me. Ohio State was a huge underdog in that game. Miami went into that game expecting to win by 50, and they paid for it.

I also read an article somewhere saying that before the game, Willis McGahee and Kellen Winslow had already scheduled a voctory party. I wonder what they did with all that extra shrimp?

Since I was not around for the 68 championship, I have got to go with the 2003 Fiesta Bowl. No one gave us a chance to beat Miami. They were almost 2 TD dogs. OSU was not supposed to have enough speed and offense to keep up with Miami.

Same year, but a close second would be the 2002 scUM game. After all of the near misses and heartbreaks, OSU finally beats scUM when it counts and gets a chance to win the national title.

After being such an avid Buckeye Fan for over 47 years, I would have to say the Fiesta Bown N/C game with Miami. The 68 N/C game is still fresh in my mind as i watched Rex Kern execute some great fake-handoffs that I had ever seen. That led me to believe that he was the best QB ever at OhioState
but after living here in Florida and taking all the grief from Miami FSU and Florida fan for the way Ohio State got to the big game, well i sure had an axe to grind. After watching the 2002 season as Krenzel kept pulling rabbits out of the magic hat, convinced me that he was deserving of re-placing Kerns in my minds eye. I just have to wonder how many more great games we will be able to see with Jim Tressel at the Helm.
