C Kaleb "Bully" Wesson ('18 All B1G Freshman, '19 Honorable Mention All B1G, '20 2nd Team All B1G)

It looks like last year Kam was suspended indefinitely for a violation of team rules. Although most people speculated it was going to be 3 games based on the athletic departments drug policy.

I don't think they have used "violation of team rules" language to describe Kaleb's suspension but have said for "violating athletic department policy", although I don't know if there is a distinction there.

Either way I'm guessing Kaleb will be suspended on Sunday and then he will be able to play in the B1G Tournament. Our first game will probably be a must win for our NCAA hopes

I can understand the "why" being kept in house, but how long is the suspension? I see no reason for that to be a secret. If they don't know yet that's even sillier - make a decision, announce it, and the questions end.

So lets say it's weed ... and the policy is he has to miss 3 games, take a course, and then test clean before being reinstated. How would you respond if you're the AD/coach given the latter two haven't happened yet? Act like those things are just a formality and say he's back in 3 games? I don't think you can do that even if they are usually just a formality.

Point of clarification. The coach has said in a couple articles that the suspension was handed down by someone above him.

I am fairly certain that he will be back for the conference tourney. This looks more and more like the Kam/Loving suspension. Stupid to be punishing kids like this over weed but that is just one man's opinion.
It's definitely stupid to punish a kid significantly for weed. It's even dumber to smoke weed when your the best player on your basketball team heading into March Madness on the bubble.

That is if it is weed...

Stephen Bardo, when doing the Indiana/Illinois color commentary, said that he talked to Wesson after the Northwestern game and Wesson told him that he had made a bad decision. Bardo did not elaborate. So we are left with "a bad decision". That does not mean that he did weed.

Yes but since this is a message board and they won't give us an answer it's only natural to speculate on what is the most probable cause of the suspension

Since Williams and Loving were suspended about the same time in the year, I wonder if there is something on the academic calendar that coincides with all three of these suspensions.. It could be grades and may be I am being naïve:wink:

Coach did say Kaleb will be back, so I'm sticking with my original prediction that this Sunday is the last of his suspension and he's back for the B1G tourney.

He’d have to be back after the reg season. That’s the only way he comes back this season at all. How much more of a season does this team really have after the reg season?

It’s a shame this team isn’t making the big dance this year. Aside from the 1s over 16s, whoever is playing Ohio State would have been one of the more sure things on my bracket.
