Door open for Bryce Dixon’s return to USC?

Back in mid-May, USC announced that Bryce Dixon “is no longer enrolled at the University of Southern California.” No specific reason for the separation was given, although the speculation was that it was a situation that involved the player and a female USC student.

Three months later, it appears there’s a way for the tight end to make it back to both the university and the Trojans.

A Los Angeles Superior Court judge, the Orange County Register writes, has “ordered USC to stay its expulsion of sophomore Bryce Dixon, his lawyer said, seemingly clearing the way for the talented tight end to return to the school and football team.” The Register added that “t’s unclear whether any additional steps are needed for Dixon to be reinstated.”

Head coach Steve Sarkisian is expected to address the media, and likely the Dixon development, following practice Wednesday night.

In March of this year, it was reported that Dixon would be sidelined for what was only described as a “student-conduct issue.” It’d been reported that the issue involves an unspecified incident with another USC student; Dixon’s attorney confirmed today that his client was expelled from USC because of “Title IX sexual misconduct.”
