-Williams briefly discusses Ohio State’s presence in California.

Williams is worth bringing in from California on his own, but sure would LOVE to get in on Mater Dei. That school puts out an insane amount of talent each year. We have been recruiting CA extremely well in recent years and the Cali kids are excelling here (Wyatt Davis, Chris Olave, hopefully Stroud and Kourt Williams soon), so I think we are going to have some legit shots at guys like CJ.

-Williams was set to visit for the spring game (even had plane tickets) but had to postpone due to the dead period being extended. He plans to cut his list next month, and visit as soon as things open back up.

-CJ decided to run track, and the state meet is the week of his scheduled Ohio State visit. He’ll try to visit in the fall, but if he finds a fit during his visits in June he won’t wait to visit before he commits.

Mater Dei kids are a VERY small possibility anyway. Keep pursuing Burden from MO, and if it comes to it, take the kid that goes to school with Ewers. He may be a project, but has great foundation to work with(4.4 speed, and a relationship with QE).

The recruitment of 2022 four-star wide receiver C.J. Williams is heating up in a big way. The Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei product cut his list to five on Wednesday -- Alabama, Notre Dame, Stanford, Texas and USC -- and said he hopes to have a decision this summer.

Williams could be leaning a certain way, however. Late Wednesday night, 247Sports national recruiting analyst Greg Biggins put in a Crystal Ball pick for Williams with a confidence level of six to land at Notre Dame.
