Wish Spectrum cared that much about hanging on to customers. You call to tell them you're dropping in my area and they just go "okay, good luck." Of course they don't care, because your internet only rate goes up by like 50% when you unbundle.

What's funny is Spectrum is on point with business fiber and treats residential customers like shit. AT&T, under Randall Stephenson, - once the leader in 'five-nines' business contracts - treats all their customers terribly.

AT&T's 'module' system of business service is an unmitigated shit-show. Been billed for nearly two years for service that was never turned up because of a transposition error on the MSA, and every person I talk to on the phone is in a call center in India reading from a script.

If I need to increase my metro ethernet bandwidth on Spectrum, I make a phone call to their Columbus NOC and it's adjusted in five minutes with no outage. AT&T would do three truck rolls and require I come into my office at 2:00AM to dial-in and schedule/coordinate a cut-over and IP change on every router and firewall.

When I called to cancel my residential TV & Video service with AT&T, I was absolutely floored by the fact I got somebody who was polite and spoke English as their primary language.

I've been tempted to go business internet with them, because I've heard they're actually good for that. But man, fuck losing Bright House and their awesome (relatively, considering everyone else in ISPs) customer service and not terrible pricing to the Charter/Spectrum buyout. I guess at least I still have US-based call center folks...for now.

I've been doing a lot of research on this TV streaming shit. The main thing that controls price is the sports channels. Hell, AT&T gave me the "WatchTV" service for free when I changed my plan to unlimited data and there are something like 40 channels. But those channels mean jack-squat (who the hell "needs" Cozy or Tastymade?). But the dumbasses don't have a Roku app (I have Roku) so I really haven't tried it.

But again, the cost is in the sports channels.

I did a compare of Playstation Vue, YoutubeTV, Hulu Live, Sling, FuboTV and DirectTV Now. The Sports channels are basically B1G 10 Network, CBS Sports Network, ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU, Fox Regionals (Fox Sports Ohio, Sportstime Ohio), the MLB Network, the NFL Network and NBC Sports Network. There's others (NBA Network, NHL Network, various Soccer networks, etc), but I don't care about those.

Playstation Vue: Has all the sports channels (CORE package, $55/mo currently)
YoutubeTV: All but the NFL Network ($49.99/mo)
Hulu Live: All but the NFL Network and the MLB Network ($43.99/mo)
Sling: No Big Ten Network, No Fox Regionals (for now) ($25/mo for the Orange or Blue package, $40/mo for both)
FuboTV: No ESPN ($54.99/mo)
DirectTV Now: Lol, they don't have jack shit unless you spend as much as cable.

Each has a free trial. I'm probably going to try them all and see if I want it and which one is best for me.

I cut the TV package with Spectrum last fall now Hulu+ Live TV. My internet cost went to $70 a month for 200/15 (although every time I run a speed test I'm way above that). My only other option for internet is Centurylink, who can only give me 30/10 at the same price as Spectrum. As much as I hate Spectrum, I have no complaints with their internet service.

Just picked a new indoor antenna with a "better" range. The goal was to hook up with Fox and CBS. Apparently I not only live 30 miles from Cleveland, but somehow exist in a time where their TV signals don't reach anywhere. I really don't want to have to pay for any additional streaming services, but not sure I have a choice if I want to watch any OSU games this season.

Ok, since I'm sure all of you lay awake at night wondering which service I went with, I'll put your minds at ease. I signed up for Playstation Vue. It has a 5 day free preview and the first 2 months are just 44.99 (for the CORE package). We'll see after that.

Called AT&T to cancel TV & Video portion of my service. Well, their customer retention department offered to extend my existing service for $27/mo for the next 12 months. $27 a month for the U200 service! They're giving away TV at a loss just to stem the tide of cord cutting losses.

They actually did it. No strings attached. :dance2:

Where do you live in the Cleveland area? Also, what antenna did you purchase and where did you mount it? I live in the Mentor area and I was able to get an antenna mounted up inside my attic and it's able to get NBC, CBS, ABC, FOX, and CW OTA HD signals. I use a HD HomeRun Quatro to stream the feeds to my Plex server where it records them and serves up the live stream to my Roku's throughout the house. You don't need the Plex/DVR setup in the configuration you can easily just use the HD HomeRun and it's app to watch live. Also the Cleveland area channels are broadcast out of the Parma area so opposite side of downtown for me I live probably 40 miles away.

Spectrum just upped my rate by about $40 a month. Looking at who to go back too. Have to keep their internet. It’s between PS, AT&T Direct and Hulu
I've had pretty good luck with Hulu. Not the friendliest user interface, but the big thing for my house (AKA "The Wife") is Hulu is the only one of the streaming services that carries all of the A&E Network channels. With all the others, I have to subscribe to Philo along with PS Vue, Youtbe TV etc.

I am currently doing Hulu which carries the Big Ten and Fox Sports and local stations at $45 ish a month . This stuff is all a moving target right now. I don't like the Hulu guide/software but the content is fine.

So far, so good with Playstation Vue. Have watched the Indians send their season down the shitter and the ESPN Monday Night Football game with the Browns and experienced 0 problems. No buffering, no "going out", nothing. Hell, my HD antenna occasionally pixelates on the fucking free channels and I live less than 10 miles from their location.

After my free preview ended I am getting the next 2 months for $44.99, then it goes up to $54.99.

On a hilarious/my luck note, I started my free trail to coincide with 5 Indians games I wanted to see. The first one was then on Youtube for free, The 2nd day was an off day for them, and on the 3rd day the game got rained out.

I'm excited for the game this weekend vs Fredo. My first time watching BTN on it.
