High School Calling all high school football patrons

Hubbard, Valley View doesn't play against a lot of tough competition. A 30-point victory during the season is a close one. There's only one team in their league that has given them any type of a game that last several years. It's either Bellbrooke or Brookvill, the latter I think.

The "BIG" Games for the teams you've listed are as follows:

Beechcroft: Columbus St. Charles (D2) 8/29

Rogers: Toldeo St. John's (D1) 10/3
Toldeo Whitmer (D1) 10/17

Portsmouth: Portsmouth West (D4) 8/29
Ironton (D4) 9/12
Gallia Academy (D3) 10/10
Columbus St. Charles (D3) 10/24

Dover: Uniontown Lake (D2) 9/12
New Philadelphia (D2) 10/24

Valley View: West Milton (D4) 9/26
Bellbrook (D3) 10/17
Dayton Oakwood (D4) 10/24

The Rogers/St. John's game should be a pretty good game. Portsmouth has a natural geographic rivalry with Portsmouth West however, their biggest game of the year (and the biggest regular season game in southern Ohio) is Portsmouth/Ironton. That game is at Ironton this year and the home team usually has the edge, historically. Both games I listed for Dover are big rivalry games between the respective schools, especially New Philadelphia. If I had to choose though I would go to the Dover/Lake game. I don't know much about Valley View other than they're a very good team who post impressive marks (9-1, 10-0) consistently. After looking at their schedule I can see why they suceed so well in the early part of the season, they have a tough final 4 weeks though. I would put my money on the Valley View/Bellbrook being the game to go see. Late season matchup that could have tremoundous impact on the computer rankings. If you're going to go watch potential recruits why not watch them when the pressure is on? If you need any more info let me know.

I'll be thaere because what the heck else is going to be better to do on a Thur. night in late Aug.? Did you guys make it through the flood ok last week? I saw where Hubb. got hit pretty hard. One of our plants in Hubbard got flooded from that storm.

This is a great idea! I live in the Dayton area, so I am planning on seeing Xenia (Person and unknown RB), Wayne (Freeman), CJ (Turner and Ringer) and possibly Trotwood-Madison (Logan and Jones). I'd be happy to post my reviews on the recruits.

I may try to go to some Columbus games to see Haw and Welsh.

Hubbs,
You still going to the Howland game tonight? I'm interested to see Williams in person. I read that he gained 10lbs in the offseason.

With Williams, Koyl and Schaefer for Benedictine, going up against the 2 Big 10 Howland recruits, it should be a good game.

Hven't been keeeping up with hgih school football... UA already played the team I was to report on, and on the same weekend CJ played the team I was going to watch... so, guess my two games are done, and I have no report.

UA's O-line looks small... quick but small.... they have been starting slow (come from behind wins in both games)... UA's QB is solid, has an offer from Minn. and will prob. wind up at a nice D1 program...
