Beano--Let's talk about the Canes for a minute. Their offense isn't great, but it doesn't need to be with their awesome defense in my opinion...what do you think--can they win a national championship like that?

BEANO COOK
Miami has a shot. The toughest game is over and in the win column. Miami has to play at Virginia and at NC State. Then again, Ohio Stat ebeat the Wolfpack. Larry Coker can never be counted out. his program year in and year out produces so much pro-caliber talent that you always have to consider them a major bowl contender.

is that a shot at us?

If Notre Dame wins its next three games at home, do you think they become a serious contender for a BCS game?

BEANO COOK
Yes, absolutely. Notre Dame still has Purdue, USC, Tennessee and two of those three are on the road.

i was shocked by this answer :roll2:

I only hear about half of what Beano says because I get too distracted looking at the mass of blubber he calls a neck/chin. Maybe he could cut some of that shit off and give it to Frank Beamer to put on the other side of his neck so they match.

Actually, if ND indeed beats all three of them, they should be in the running for a BCS game...maybe not the national title game, but a BCS game. Beating the #15, #1, and #11 teams, after already haven beaten the #18 team, should do that for you, provided they win all their other games.

It's a funny little irony that a guy who passes so much gas -- albeit out of his mouth -- is named Beano. The prototype 'old fart". The game, and most of the rest of reality, has passed him by.

His pet Notre Dame is NOT for real. They focused for a solid year on scUM and managed to beat them. Whopee. Then they beat scUM State on the momentum.

But USC will ream them, Teneesee will steam them and Purdue will dry-clean them by half-time. Their season will be another ignominious failure. (I like using words the lurkers from scUM South and Marshall have to look up.)

There's a new sheriff in town, Beano, and his name is Tresselball.

When Beano said "Then again, Ohio State ebeat the Wolfpack", that came across to me as, "I once considered NC State a formidable opponent, but not anymore because Ohio State sucks, and if they can beat NC State, then anybody can." None of this matters though, because Beano will continue to look like an idiot, and Ohio State will go on administering weekly ebeatings.

Not really. Beano is saying, "I think Miami is better than OSU and so they should be able to beat NCState too". I don't know who would win Miami/OSU, but it would probably be the first team to 10 points.

I'd disagree with you there, Tibor, despite the confidence with which you stated Beano's intent. Beano probably does think Miami is better than OSU, but I'd imagine he thinks Miami is better than NCState, too. This wasn't a list of teams that he thinks are possibly better than Miami, it was a list of tough opponents. Therefore, I think the comment, "then again, Ohio St. beat NC State" carries the implicit finisher, "therefore, maybe they're not a very tough opponent afterall". I think the original poster was right.
