Carson Palmer (Arizona Cardinals)

Not as bad as coaches voting for who gets to play in the national championship games.

Yet another worthless comment from the King of Kashmir, the Ruler of Rashmish. Your comment might almost have merit if you said something along the line of "it's like coaches voting their for their team and the two worst teams in the country to keep other deserving teams out".

In my opinion the award is already a joke. The best player hasn't won the award in a few years. Wasn't Larry Fitzgerald the best player last year? Eric Crouch in 2001?

I do see what you are saying with regards to Jarrett. I don't see a problem with him voting for Leinart and Bush though. If they don't want voters do that sort of thing they should limit the ballot to the finalists, then it would be impossible for someone to vote for Jarrett.
uh....Crouch won it in 2001.....Personally I think Peterson deserves it, frosh or not...

Crouch had 7 TD's and 11 Int's that year. Good numbers if you're the QB for the Bengals, not if you're on a team playing for a national title, whether they deserved to be or not. Yeah he ran for some good yards, but that was it. It should have been Grossman's.

Maybe Carson just wanted Jarrett to keep pace with Chad Friehauf, who is getting a vote this year
Shame on me. I consider myself a true college football fan, and I didn't know the name of somebody getting a Heisman vote. I'm also disappointed that I never actually saw the Colorado School of Mines (his Div II team) play this year.

I see nothing wrong with what Carson Palmer did.

He, as a past Heisman winner can see fit to vote HOWEVER he wants. If I, or you, had previously won the Heisman we could vote however we want. It's not up to anyone else to bitch about how I vote...

But I guess Heisman winners have to take lessons from Monday Morning QBs now.......

No one believes Carson Palmer thinks that Leinart, Bush and Jarrett are the first, second and third best players in the country. Thats the problem I have with it, I obviously don't know as much about college football as Palmer does, so if he legitimatly believed a player that no one else was voting for was #3, I could possibly buy that. It becomes VERY transparent when the entire top 3 are from the same team.

No one on here is saying Palmer is wrong because of WHO he voted for, rather we are saying he is wrong because he didn't vote what he really believed was true. Any schmuck off the street can throw the three best players on their team onto the Heisman ballot. They give past winners a vote because they should be able to do better. I can buy Leinart and Bush...but he threw out all crediability to those two votes because of his third.

It's classless for anyone to pull something like that.

If you want him voting for Jason White... then bitch all ya want.. but thank god I can count on Carson Palmer from keeping that fraud from being associated with Archie Griffin any more.

...This is what I think about Jason White winning.

But it's not all about Archie. Face it, someday someone else will win two straight and I don't have a problem with that. I guess, on some level I am more concerned with the history, dignity and integrity of the game more than I am about serving selfish agendas.

I buy the fact that Palmer doesn't think White is #3...I don't think he is either. But instead of voting Jarrett, vote for who you REALLY think is number three. He didn't because he didn't want to help any non-Trojan. No one that is out for the interests of their own team over what they believe is truth should be able to vote for an award that means so much. It taints everything about the trophy.
