Cavs 08-09 Season - Central Div Champs (official thread)

Boozer has opted in with Utah, finding yet another way to screw the Cavs over. Watch now as the Pissed-ons purssue CV and offer him more money than we can.

:pissed:

I guess Artest would be option B if CV signs with Detroit.

Rasheed Wallace isn't a bad consolation prize for one year. It would help the Cavs win now giving them that stretch power forward who has a post up game, while allowing them to have flexibility next year to sign a guy like Bosh to a max contract.

Unless we don't resign Andy or ant FA to long term deals we will NOT be able to sign a max FA. The only way we can get Bosh is through a sign and trade. S&Ts can only be made if we have young expendable players i.e. CV,AV,JJ,Darnell. Rasheed is a stop gap and should be an option but not in the top 3. The Cavs need to build a young core that can grow with LeBron and is skilled enough to convince him to stay.

no, what it means is that detroit will offer a ton to milsap to try and disuade utah from matching as the jazz don't want to go crazy into the luxury tax, which they will with kirelenko's contract, along with boozer and what milsap will probably command.

I know that Milsap is gone, but OKC is also in the running for Milsap's services. And with this bidding Detroit may "settle" for CV and Ben Gordon. Leaving the Cavs with Artest and Frye as primary options for the MLE.

both detroit and okc need to sign other FA's, which, if done first, won't give them that much more than the cavs to offer CV. you're overreacting a little bit.

Speaking of the Pissed-ins - they fired another coach today. Apparently you're supposed to win a championship when the team trades away your best player mid-season.

Joe Dumars is piling up quite a list of "brilliant moves" like drafting Darko, firing a coach who went to the conference finals, running off a coach who won a championship and made another finals appearance, firing another coach who went to three consecutive conference finals... Nice job.

:banger: (for the record, I can ball...when my plantar fasciitis isn't acting up. Getting old sucks.)

In doomars defense, Curry made some astoundingly boneheaded decisions...of course being handicapped by trading one of the best PGs in the game didn't help. It has been a pleasure watching those motherfickers slide into irrelevance. Hopefully they're at the front end of another swoon like in the mid nineties. And hopefully they pay Boo$er a mountain of cash to sit on IR for 20-40 games a year.

FINALLY...It's a great day to be a cavs fan...Glad to see even the cavs tired of his flopping and bricks

Unfirtunately for you he is likely to resign with the Cavs as his value is highest with us. We don't need him to be anything more than a pain in the ass to the opponents with Shaq, Z, and hopefully CV here to provide O.

I don't think I am, I'd be happy as hell if we signed Frye or Artest for the MLE. After looking at the possibilities for OKC and D-town I still maintain hope that CV will suit up in the Wine & Gold next year.

detroit is rumored to be offering a big deal to milsap, as is OKC. Detroit is also alledgedly going to offer $10 million+ to Ben Gordon. That effectively eliminates their cap room. Even if Millsap goes to OKC and Gordon to Detroit, then Detroit can offer barely more than the Cavs, and Detroit is still a trainwreck with no coach.

CV seems like the type that will take the best deal, not so much the team with his best chance to win. Hope I'm wrong, but I'm not holding my breath until I see him sign.

If that's true I don't know why he would have made so much noise about becoming a Cav. I'm sure his agent has made him aware that the Cavs only have the MLE to offer.

those two will take up basically all of detroit's cap room. so, detroit will have 4 draftees, and 4 starting quality players, and no coach. that's an enviable situation.

And not a star player among them, Rip's their best player and I'd put him ever so slightly above Mo in a comparisson. And Mo will be our 3rd or 4th option this year deppending on if we sign Artest or make a trade for say Boozer:smash: or Gerald Wallace. Sucks to live in in TSUN more now than ever before, too bad it always sucked a big one to call it home to begin with.:scum4:
