CB Ashton Youboty (CB Coach Purdue)

This is definately a good move. Underwoods coverage always seemed inferior to Youbotys. I never understood why he was higher on the depth chart except maybe Underwood is a better tackler.

Youboty replacing Underwood is a good move.

Underwood hasnt showed how good he was advertised to be all year. He doesnt like to hit, and shies away from contact. He also seems to be slow breaking on the ball, and gets lazy in zone coverage. Youboty did a fine job when Fox was injured. This is the right move in my opinion.

Love Ginn's ability to change a game, but as a WR he's a role player at best.... my gut says he'll score more TD's after INT's than he will as a WR... and let's just go ahead and commit to him as the primary PR and put him next to Mo Hall on KR too.... nothing against Holmes, but I think giving that job to Ginn will yield better results and allow Holmes to focus more on WR (where he's underachieving just a little bit).

I know I'm in the minority here but I'm not so sure about the quality of our DB depth. Lots of Safeties but not a lot of true CB's. What do you guys think?

I don't know anything about Roberts, is he any good?

It's to early to tell about Lane, Underwood, Nick Patterson, and Welch (Like what I'm seeing on Spec. Teams) With maybe the exception of Lane I thought B. Underwood, Patterson, Welch, Mitchell were slated for safety?

After Fox, EJ and Youboty who are our true CB's?

I tend to agree with you. If you're just talking scholarship players after Fox, Youboty and Underwood you have Harlen Jacobs, a senior who has contributed more on special teams than in the secondary, Michael Roberts, a kid who hasn't made a contribution anywhere, Brandon Underwood and Shaun Lane, both redshirts. Underwood looked good in the Big 33 and the North/South game and Lane is undersized. You wonder if Ginn will see more time at corner next year. Since we're losing Fox and Jacobs we could certainly use another corner in this class to go with Malcolm Jenkins. If O'Neal ends up at safety I could see taking two.
