Until bowl games begin, it's on to postseason individual awards and teams of the year. On Monday, the 247Sports True Freshman All-American Team was announced and three of the Buckeyes' first-year players made the list, the most of any team in the country, in running back TreVeyon Henderson, cornerback Denzel Burke and defensive tackle Tyleik Williams.

On Monday, three young Scarlet and Gray players were awarded for their production this season when the Football Writers Association of American released the 2021 Freshman All-American team. Quarterback C.J. Stroud, running back TreVeyon Henderson and cornerback Denzel Burke were all named to the FWAA's Freshman All-American team.

“HE CAN PLAY IN THE LEAGUE RIGHT NOW.” Denzel Burke is a sentient recruiting pitch for the Buckeye coaching staff – it does not matter who you are, how long you've been in the program or what your recruiting ranking was coming out of high school.
If you're the best player, you're going to play.
And according to NFL defensive back Logan Ryan, he might even be a step above "can start at Ohio State as a true freshman" good – he might be "could start in The League right now" good.

Ohio State's Denzel Burke hints at jersey number change for 2022
It appears this is the case for Ohio State sophomore cornerback Denzel Burke. After wearing No. 29 as a true freshman a year ago, a number that was likely given to him upon his arrival in Columbus, not one he chose, Burke hinted that he will wear No. 5 for the Buckeyes in 2022. The corner tweeted a picture of his locker on Friday with his name, the number "05" and the caption "#Godsplan."
