CB Denzel Burke (All B1G, All-American)

ESPN stat leaders has Denzel Burke tied for 3rd in the country with 6 passes defended. Cam Brown has 5 PD in that same list.

If you'd told me as the season started that we would have our corners improved that much from last year, I'd have said we got a top 10 Defense and be Top 3 in the nation ranked. :pissed3:

Burke is the real deal, to play like this as a true freshman is just unreal. I don't think many fans appreciate how well he's playing at 18 at one of the hardest positions to play. Everyone just needs to cheer this youngster on, he's way ahead of his time.

Minn 25 + Ore 35 + Tulsa 54 = 114 passes

Yeah, but when they throw 114 passes in just 3 games you get a lot of chances for PDs, etc. In addition, when you are a true Freshman (i.e. don't have reputation as being a shut down corner) they tend to throw more your way too.

Just sayin': He looks to be the "real deal". I hope he sticks around (and stays healthy) for 4 years so we can see just how great he can become.

He won't be here for 4 years.

Not at this rate.

Burke reminds me of a mix of Bradley Roby and Damon Arnette. But he's MUCH farther ahead than the 2 alum at the same point in their careers. But he loves talking trash as a mental tool against WRs, and has high confidence in his abilities, combined with a short memory(all traits I love in my CBs, especially when their play backs up what's coming out of their mouths). To think that we have him for 2 more years, and we still also have the talents of Johnson and Hancock in the same class as well
