Welcome aboard.

But.... the numbers. The scholarship numbers.

Somebody help me understand the numbers.

We are still two weeks from camp. We have plenty of time to evaluate... and these DB offers keep coming out of nowhere.

No offense to Dominic. But as a fan shouldn't I be privy to the recruiting strategy? Shouldn't there be some sort of intelligible pattern? I mean, the recruiting team puts a lot of time into our prospect summaries. And they are very robust with lots of options. Shouldn't JT limit himself to these lists?

I understand you are being facetious, but LJB, WAD, and I were just having this exact conversation a few days ago about the DB offers. With so many going out, that tells me the staff doesn't see much difference in the kids...but add in the GPA of a Dominic Clarke and you have the difference between he and say a DJ Hunter.

Agreed, they cleary see the difference between many of these DBs as marginal and want to fill up the class quickly. There are obviously exceptions like McGee or others who may have a spot reserved but generally speaking I like this strategy for the DBs. It's interesting they haven't employed this tactic with the OL, clearly Watt and company are held in much higher regard than the in-state alternatives. I'm more than content with Clarke's speed, aggression, and academic discipline jumping on board over some others with offers who may not feel as strongly about OSU.

FWIW I was just coming back to delete my post (which was facetious) because it can't help but detract from Dominic. This is his thread - and I agree.

He is as good as others on the list or he wouldn't have gotten the offer.

Great article in the paper BSB this week on JTs recruiting approach. This kid is a perfect example of the type of player he targets.

And for the record - not all of my posts are facetious (attempting humor in a clumsy or often inappropriate manner). Most are sarcastic (humor that has a measure of intent to insult, deprecate, point out a stupidity, or inflict pain).

Below are Clarke's results at the Virginia NU.com Combine:

Just as the morning session was dominated by a future D1 player, the same can by said about the afternoon session. Overall MVP sophomore Dominic Clarke of Tuscarora High School in Maryland showcased all the necessary skills at the cornerback position to become a big time prospect. Clarke, 5-foot-9 and 164-pounds, has off-the-charts athleticism, plus impressive speed and quickness, which helped him dominate the 1-on-1?s. During the combine events he also had a 33.5-inch vertical, 9?10? broad, 4.41 shuttle, 4.67 40, and 23 reps at 150-pounds.
