CB Doran Grant (Official Thread)

No matter who offers, this will be a MSU/OSU race. OSU will win out, but MSU will get serious consideration. He's good friends with Johnny Adams, a CB at MSU. His dad was my little league basketball coach. I'll update when info is given. He also has an older brother, Ted Jones Jr. at Southern University in Louisiana. Family is all Buckeye, with the exception of dad.

I guessed he was his brother, considering the name, so thanks for confirming my suspicions. He was a nice DE for Buchtel. I was a bit surprised he didn't end up at a MAC school.

You Buchtel guys must be awfully disappointed that Grant didn't attend Buchtel like his older brother did.

Ted didn't have grades. He also didn't have a coach to actively help him on the recruiting trail. His year was in the midst of the Claude Brown scandal.

Doran wanted to go to Buchtel, but his mom is huge on academics, and well....I don't think I have to explain the differences between Buchtel & St. V regarding academics. Lol. Plus, Jones Sr. and Ricky Powers aren't the best of friends.

Grant was very happy to receive the Southern Cal offer... He plans on camping at USC, UCLA, Cal, Oregon, & Oregon State on the Raw Talent bus tour this summer... He & his family are open to schools as far away as the west coast... Names OSU & MSU as his leaders due to the relationships he's built with their staffs... Plans to take his visits & commit at the UA game...
