    • Nik Sarac knows a thing or two about winning: He played three seasons at Ohio high-school power Cleveland St. Ignatius, and as a sophomore was part of the 2008 state championship team. He walked on at Ohio State in the fall of 2011 now is part of a team that has won 21 straight games. Sarac has excelled in the classroom, as well — he has been recognized as an OSU scholar-athlete with a major intended to take him into the medical profession.

Question: You’ve bitten off a lot with your major. What’s the appeal?

Answer: I’m a pre-med student, and an exercise science major, studying a lot about the body and the different things that go on with exercise, how your body regulates itself and things like that.

Q: What do you want to be when you grow up?

A: I’d really like to be a surgeon. It’s still kind of early to talk about a preference, but if I had choice it might be an orthopedic surgeon, a sports medicine doctor, someone closely involved with sports.
