Celtics-Cavs Second Round Series

The ONLY reason anyone would be calling the Celtics frauds at this point is they are a sore loser. Period.

I normally agree with you, but not this time. As a Cavs fan, congrats to Boston, but they certainly don't look like champions. If the Cavs won, I;d expect them to lose in the next round too.

Boston is a 2 man team capable of beating anyone. As a team, they aren't as strong as Detroit. I thimk Detroit takes the series.

well I must be right, since you have not even attempted to refute my point that the "best team" should be able to win on the road in the playoffs

It's a stupid point. The better team is the one that wins the series and the best team will be decided in June.

Why don't you sit the next play out, champ?

Yeah, but you're not really calling them a fraud. I agree they don't look like what I thought they would. "Fraud" is just sour grapes.

but you will see when they play a team that is actually capable of winning on the road in the playoffs (the Pistons)

What everyone is getting at is that as the number one seed, you shouldn't have as much trouble with the Hawks.

I wouldn't go so far as to call them frauds,
.
I would agree with everything you said, NFBuck.
I only disagreed with them being labeled as frauds. i would also say that the Pistons are the better team and will beat the celts
Yeah Sig Bet, Sig bet !

They don't have to win any on the road, thanks to the best recored in the NBA.

No, you're wrong. Obviously they should give up the advantage they earned over the regular season to really, really prove that they are the "best team" as defined by Hillary Rodh... er.... buckeyemania11

What the hell is the point of all these posts? This will all be settled on the court over the next couple of weeks.[/quote]
Friendly message board banter?

Tron, just assuming home court advantage gives you an insurmountable edge is not a valid argument. Detroit is a much better team than either Atlanta or the Cavs. Detroit can win on the road, and I believe they will at least once in this series. The Celts have looked vulnerable at home and at times deplorable on the road. On paper, Detroit is simply a better team. They're more cohesive and have waaaaay more playoff experience than a basically rebuilt Celtics team. Like I said, I think Detroit takes it in six by winning one of the first two in Boston (1-1), taking the next two in Detroit (3-1), losing game 5 in Boston and then winning game six in Detroit. It pains me to type that, because I loathe Detroit on a level matched by few other professional teams.

Fraud is when you deceive someone into thinking something...For Example kinda like the Celtics deceived many to think they would blow thru the East and then win a championship, by way of their regular season...

The Hawks and Celtics have proven them to be a fraud in that they are not as good as many thought...

That has nothing to do with a sore loser...That has to do with the truth that they did not play anywhere near as good as they did in the regular season...

Much better is a bit off, I saw a Cav's team last year beat the Piston's with a worse team then they have now.

Detroit solely lost because they didn't know how to defend LeBron. The Celtics learned how to play LeBron based off of San Antonio last year.

The playoffs are a clear indicator of how different it is from the regular season with that point alone. No teams utilized the Box and 3 all year until the playoffs (1 guy plays LeBron man-to-man, 3 others play zone behind it for help defense). Detroit doesn't have to worry about that with Boston.

I guess I agree with the premise of your post, but if I had to pick a team to win, it'd be Detroit. They just seem to be the better team overall, and have the best players on paper.
