During an ESPN interview, Barkley said that he's probably lost $10 million on gambling.

He says he knows it's a problem, and he's an idiot for losing that much money. But he also stated that he doesn't want to stop - he said he just needs to get it under control - by gambling $1,000 per hand, rather than $20,000 a hand.

His agent declined to comment.

Charles is talking about it on TNT now.

"I'm going to continue to gamble. I like to gamble - it's my money." "It's a bad habit, but I'll continue to do it. ... It's my life."

Ya know.. the irony is.. so many hammer Dwight Gooden and Daryl Strawberry for making a mess of their lives with drugs.. it's just a different addiction... but an addiction is an addiction...

Here's a picture I just found of Barkley and some blonde from one of his trips to Vegas...

I loved it when he said they need to quit making it so easy for him, like sending a plane for him and such... :slappy: :slappy: Seriously I really like the guy, love his honesty! I might even vote for him for office, he'd be an improvement on many already there.

Someone needs to get Sir Charles, Michael Jordan, Artie Lange, John Daly, Pete Rose, and Bill Bennett together.

Don't forget Art Schlichter!!

I'll never forget the time that Artie Lange made a bet on the Masters, he got the field to win and the only player he didn't get was Tiger Woods, Woods won the Masters and Artie lost an assload of cash. :slappy:

That's a classic Artie moment. I think the only one that topped it was when his buddy's bookie threatened to kill him on Ash Wednesday while he still had ashes on his forehead.

Did you see Stephen A Smtih comment on the Barkley interview?
He saide something like:
1) It's no big deal. As long as it doesn't affect their livelihood.
2) Sports guys need the competition of gambling.
3) You can make a million just as easy as lose a million at a Casino.

My opinion:
The odds are in the Casino's favor. If you lose more than you win over a couple months, you suck at gambling and should find something else to do with your time. Find a charity to volunteer at and give your money to them.
