Charlie Weis (ex-Kansas HC, ex-Fla OC, Notre Dame legend, UnDecided Schematic Advantage)

I hate it when some dingers don't sign their gutless shots.

But I, and many others, hate it just as much when people complain about it. You won't get one from me, but it may be time to duck. Just hope that most of them sign it.

Preciate the back up. Like I said, I dont bitch about it, its jsut that I have made no controversial statements or commented n anything that could be taken as a shot to the team or any member on the board. Its when I get 5-6 dings from people who dont sign em and dont leave an explanation is when I get a lil upset. But as Toasman said, dont take it too seriously.

As if the contract wasn't paying him enough, he also pulls in major money as a speaker...can't blame him one bit though.

Weis cashing in off the field

Charlie Weis is a wanted man. BusinessWeek reports the Notre Dame coach's fee for speaking engagements has increased from $20,000 last spring to at least $50,000. And Weis' agent, Bob LaMonte, told the publication he has received as many as 50 proposals for endorsements, books and speeches.

"I want to be very sure I don't spread myself too thin," Weis said. "I think I can be good at some of these things, but I'm not going to [prostitute] myself."

BusinessWeek also reported Weis' new contract, which goes through 2015, pays him $2 million per season—far less than had been speculated—and allows him to keep all of his outside income. Under his old deal, outside income reportedly offset his salary from the school.

I watched a show on Woody the other night. They said for every 5 speaking engagements that he did, 3 of them were for free.

He donated the fees mostly...when he passed and Anne Hayes was going through his old clothes and jackets, she found a small fortune in uncashed checks.

Charlie's baggy pockets add to the ever growing disgust I get in regards to thinking about Notre Dame favoritism. Obviously Charlie is playing his cards right and more power to him...he's not stupid, but do you think this would happen to another coach if he wasn't Notre Dame's coach. Of course not. If this wasn't enough for me today, I got a healthy dose of gag time this morning while clicking through the channels. I passed Regis and Kelly and thought, "Hey, Kelly's pretty hot, I'll watch this for a while." Regis then proceeded to go through his list of perfect gift items for this Christmas. The last gift he unveiled was a DVD entitled "Your Irish Baby". Or something to that effect. I almost lost my breakfast all over the TV. The movie was a damn training camp video for young incompetent children who can't make decisions for themselves. It takes them through a spelling section where they learn I-R-I-S-H, IRISH. Then proceeds to talk about the history of Notre Damn and the historical sites on campus. Now I love a good propaganda plot as much as the next guy but come on. It was also notably on NBC....of course.

and if it were OSU on NBC, you would think it was fantastic.

I get fed up with the ND love as well... but if there is any comparison to JT out there in terms of class and sportsmanship... it's Weis.

I like this one...

3. Unbelievably Bad Offensive Calls

Believe it or not, Weis did not invent his "aggressive offense." The honors there go to my younger brother. He first experimented with going for fourth and 15+ in his own territory in football videogames five years ago. On the other hand, in video games it is fairly easy to pick up the first in such a situation. In real life it just leads to losses and head scratching (See: #1 above and Fiasco bowl below). The players work too hard for this, and they deserve better.

One of the reasons for Weis to be fired.

After seeing the pressers leadingup to the Fiesta Bowl, the Fiesta Bowl itself, and the stories of his arrogance afterwards, and at the coaches conference this past week, I am wondering if you still agree with this statement. My opinion is that Weiss couldn'e hold Tressels jock in the class and sportsmanship department

I'll tell you what, after I read all the reasons for Weiss to be fired, it was like my dream had come true. All the things we've been saying about ND for God knows how long were right there in black and white. And by a ND fan to boot. I just hope they keep him around. Between him and Llllloyd we'll be ok.
