Chasing after a loose ball in the third quarter of the Bulls' 96-93 victory, Asik dove on the floor and rolled over Bosh's ankle. Bosh was visibly upset after the play but accepted a peace offering by Asik soon after. Bosh left the game and did not return.

X-rays were negative but Bosh missed the fourth quarter and may have an MRI in the next few days in Miami to determine the extent of the injury. The initial prognosis is that it wasn't a severe sprain.

"C'mon, that is how guys get hurt, that is how serious injuries happen," Bosh said. "You've got to watch people's legs. I know guys want to hustle and everything but we all want to play and provide for our families and have a job.

"We all want to be healthy and that is very important," Bosh said. "If it is by somebody's leg, don't dive for the ball, it's too close."

I agree with Bosh... Unless the ball bounces waist high and is within an arms length.. you should let the other guy have it...
I think you are ignoring the possible tragic consequences of a stoved or broken finger. Chasing down down loose balls is dangerous, and bad for the sport, in my IMO.

The same can be said for rebounds in my IMO. If your defender starts to box you out, just turn around and get back down the court. There's no sense in getting someone hurt just trying to crash the boards.

I love the "we all gotta provide for our families"

As if the several million he has received over the years can't cover that. Not to mention, you still get paid while you are injured.

I'm glad Omer Asik doesn't have to feed anyone... I'm sure his family in Bursa Turkey is outrageously rich... He should apologize to Bosh and promise to never dive for a loose ball again
