Chris Clark (UCLA Signee; transfer to ???)

It's astounding to me that a blue chip recruit (particularly one who's not from Michigan) would want to play at Michigan, what with the year-in, year-out mediocre records, losses in lousy bowl games such as the Buffalo Wild Wings Bowl, the head coach sitting directly on the hot seat, etc.

At the end of the day, a recruit's got to do what's best for him. Hopefully he'll reopen his recruitment like he did after committing to UNC. It wouldn't surprise me much, especially given the reports about his glowing take on MSU, just a day before he committed to Michigan.

Don't have the link now, but I read an article on Clark, on MGoBlog, in which Clark states he would've committed to MSU if he didn't have a great visit at UM. Says he wanted to commit before The Opening to recruit great players to UM (Damien Harris, Justin Hilliard, etc....)

Also this gem. He's pretty awesome bro:

I'm ready to win some championships and get Michigan back to the top," he said. "Especially starting to beat Ohio State, that's going to be big. I want to make sure that in my four years I don't lose to Ohio State once."

Edit: and the "bro" comment was if you've ever seen his twitter. I'm sure he's a decent kid (other than, you know, going to UM), but geez if he doesn't join a fraternity I'll be SHOCKED.

Now that Michigan IS the spot for Clark, he already seems to understand exactly what that means.

"I'm ready to win some championships and get Michigan back to the top," he said. "Especially starting to beat Ohio State, that's going to be big. I want to make sure that in my four years I don't lose to Ohio State once."

Rarely is a statement proven false so immediately.

I think my new recruiting mantra (going back to the discussion in the Eichenberg thread) is that actions speak louder than words- especially semi-incoherent words mumbled through mouthfuls of food.

Also this gem.
Great minds think alike.

"I'm ready to win some championships and get Michigan back to the top, just like they were when my great-great-grandfather was around," he said. "Especially starting to beat Ohio State, that's going to be big because we haven't done it in so long. We're like 2-11 this century, bro! I want to make sure that in my four years I don't lose to Ohio State once, even though in reality I'll probably lose all four times."

I edited his statements for accuracy.
