for the next offer from Ohio State. At the top of that list may be mammoth
offensive tackle Chris Meenan. Meenan currently checks in at 6’7 ½ inches
tall while tipping the scales at 315 pounds. Meenan is the anchor of what
appears to be a very solid Wooster offensive line. Not only does Wooster
return Chris Meenan, they also return fellow letter earning offensive lineman
Cory Palmer (6’6, 315). With two veteran behemoths in the trenches the
Generals will try to make a run at another Ohio Cardinal Conference
Championship.
Meenan is doing what it takes to make his collegiate dreams come true.
Chris describes himself as an “aggressive” lineman. He tries to pattern his
game after former Ohio State great Orlando Pace, and said “being from the
state of Ohio that is just who you look to”. He participates in track working
every day to lower his 5.4 forty time. In the weight room Chris is a monster
recently maxing out at 360 pounds on the bench press, and muscling up a
450 -pound squat.
Meenan is receiving alot attention from perennial Big Ten powers Ohio
State, Iowa, Wisconsin, and Illinois. M.A.C. schools like Bowling Green and
Akron are showing strong interest by sending Chris weekly personalized
hand written letters.
Meenan has strong ties with a few programs. He alerted me to the fact
that his father (Mike Meenan) played football for Kent State, and also
“roomed” with Fighting Illini head coach Ron Zook “for a couple of years”.
Chris also has some ties with Ohio State as his uncles Kim and Tom
Anderson both played football for the Buckeyes in the mid sixties for coach
Woody Hayes.
Look for Chris to show off his potential soon, as he will try to earn the big
offers on the summer camp circuit. He has plans to try and attend camps
at both Illinois and Notre Dame. He will also “definitely” attend the Ohio
State senior advance camp.
