This is different from the Lebron situation. Lebron wouldnt ok a sign and trade, nor would he tell the Cavaliers his plans so that they could plan differently. At least Paul has been upfront with his desires.

Brilliant way to help the small market teams Dave.

The Heat sent Cleveland two first-round draft picks and two second-round picks, as well as a large trade exception, for James. The first-round picks could be between 2013 and 2017. The second-round picks are in 2012 (acquired from New Orleans) and a future pick acquired from Oklahoma City. For some reason, the Cavs will have the option to swap 2012 first-round picks with the Heat as well. The trade exception can be used within one year.

To set the record straight, yes he did.

Hell, they can even have multiple playoffs a year and the winner of the last playoffs can't participate in the next one. That way it is even easier for everyone to get a ring.
After all, joining super teams and getting a ring the easiest way possible is the name of the game in the NBA these days.

The veto was a classic case of emotions trumping intelligence. No thought was given beyond that moment in time.

This is a superstar player in exchange for some bloated contracts.
I personally hope that the Hornets keep him and let him walk. Getting nothing will be better for them than getting albatrosses.
Merih;2060639; said:Even if what you say is true, that should be the Hornet's choice. If they want those players and agreed to the trade, why should the NBA say "no that's not good for you"?

I cannot remember ever seeing a trade where a team got by far the best player in the trade and saved over $40 million in the process. And it doesn?t appear that they would give up any draft picks, which might allow to later make a trade for Dwight Howard.
