In 4 years we wont be upset about this one. Sevon Pittman is another story. I want him in S&G badly! Adolphus too...Wormley is soft IMO.

I would not go that far.

Wormley is a heck of a talent for a coaching staff to mold. Tressel offered the kid early and was on him early for a reason- kids with his body and his combination of size, power, athletic ability are pretty rare. His upside is better than any DE in Ohio IMO.

All he needs is a great coaching staff to light a fire under him and get him going every snap and a little bit of coaching up and technique work and the sky is the limit for him.

Better than Washington? Really?

Yes, the surrounding cast who plays alongside of him means nothing...it's all about coaching...Martin showed that a great player who is surrounded by a nasty team will do little or nothing during his career.

Ohio DE's are in this order, Washington, Pittman, McMullen, Wormley.

I never said Wormley was not good, I said that Pittman and Washington are better. He is a good player but Buckeye fans will not lose sleep over him. I have said it from day 1, Wormley plays soft, especially for a kid that is 6-6 260.

Like I've said, it goes like this: Country, State, Hometown. Either you're proud of where you come from or you're not.
Or, like some people, you did not spend your whole life in one spot, and moved around from state to state, no matter what location your last couple of years in h.s. wound up being.

I don't know the details of this guy, but I lived in eight different states by the time I went to college. I know that I was not as deeply committed to the local area as the kids who had never been anywhere else. It was not a lack of being "proud" so much as it was divided loyalties resulting from being a resident of different states over that period of my life.

I think Washington is a better high school player, but yes I do like Wormley's upside a little better. They are very, very close IMO.

Martin played for really bad defensive coaching staffs, in a 3-3-5 scheme, and with sub par talent around him.

Wormley will be playing for an accomplished, proven Defensive Co-Ordinator, in a 4-3 scheme, and should be playing with much more talent around him than Martin if the initial recruiting class rankings for 2012 (Rivals has them at #3 right now, MaxPreps at #1, and Scout at #2) are an indication.

They will also probably land 4* DT's Danny O'Brien and Ondre Pipkins. Wormley is going to be coming in with quite a bit of talent at DL and LB.

No offense sport but according to Scout; Washington is the #3 ranked DE, Wormley is is #20.

Yes, I know where Scout ranks both of these guys, thanks.

I think Scout is really overrating Washington. I really like him, but he's not a 5* IMO and not nearly as good as they rate him. I see a very good HS DE with big potential in Washington, but not a Top 25 player in the entire nation.

One of the guys over at Scout even tried comparing him to Clowney for a second. Very silly IMO. Washington is nowhere near that level, but then again very few if any are.

Both Washington and Wormley are great players. Michigan got a player OSU would love to have. Michigan would gladly take Washington as well. Congrats to Chris for living his dream. Let's just move on and focus on the recruits that are still on the board. This site has the best reputation for Buckeye related banter for a reason, let's not regress into arguments like this.
