Cincinnati Bearcats (Juggalos official thread of Faygo)

Peak Juggalo.

After whining for years about P5 not playing them in Cincy, there already drawing up a list of games to cancel that are now beneath their new lofty status.

There are precisely 4 fan bases that still think there’s a power FIVE

Even the remaining (not new) Big XII members know there are only 4 power conferences now

I bet even significant portions of the fan bases of the new members know that what they’re joining has no claim to “Power” status

They'll find it out the hard way when their undefeated champ is left out of a playoff that has three 1-loss P4 teams in it.

If you delve into that board, you'll find some real gems. An SEC-B12 scheduling alliance to get the SEC exposure in Ohio. That UC is just using the B12 as a stepping stone for the ACC or SEC (Ohio State will block them from the B1G).

It seems to me with this latest realignment, there is the B1G and SEC, then a significant drop to the PAC and ACC, than another smaller drop to the Big 12. Without Clemson, who does the ACC have who can compete for a playoff spot? The PAC hasn't exactly been setting the world on fire lately either. What we really have is the P2, with the ACC, PAC, and Big 12 competing to be the best of the rest.

Unfortunately, it won't be official until the CFP Selection Committee amends their New Years Six Bowl selection guidelines.

Overall, 12 teams are selected each football season for these major, top tier bowls. These are required to include the champions of the "Power Five" conferences (ACC, Big Ten, Big 12, Pac-12 and SEC). In addition, the highest-ranked champion from the "Group of Five" conferences (The American, Conference USA, MAC, Mountain West and Sun Belt) is guaranteed a berth if the group's top team is not in the playoff.

There is nothing unfortunate about it

By 2023, when the move of the Horns and the Sooners is complete, the rules will have been amended and the new rules will then go into effect. It’s neither fortunate nor unfortunate; it’s practically Newtonian

Can Cincinnati make a real College Football Playoff run?

i

An undefeated Cincinnati was cast aside by the College Football Playoff selection committee a year ago. As the Bearcats head into a crucial two-game road stretch at Indiana and at Notre Dame, it has us wondering: Do they have a shot, this year, to be the first Group of 5 team to work its way into the playoff?

The short answer is the Allstate Playoff Predictor says ... it's very unlikely (sorry Bearcats fans). Just a 3% chance. But there's a long answer here, too, with maybe a little more hope for Desmond Ridder die-hards if they squint at the schedule just right. Because a large part of Playoff Predictor's skepticism here has to do with the fact that it just doesn't think the Bearcats are very likely to win out.

Cincinnati is good, sure -- but 21st-best-team-in-the-country good, according to FPI. That's not exactly playoff-caliber on the surface. And while the Bearcats' schedule isn't particularly rough, it does contain three games against top-40 FPI teams (Notre Dame, Indiana, UCF) and four against top-50 teams (Tulane). The chance that Cincinnati wins out is, well, 3%. Due to rounding it looks the same as its chance to reach the playoff, but it is not: If the Bearcats do win out, and do win their conference championship, they would have a 61% chance to reach the playoff. That's actually not bad!

To get there, the Bearcats need to either get very lucky the rest of the way, or turn out to be better than we think they are. But in worlds where they end up 13-0, they probably are better than we think they are.

Ultimately, to be frank, we're talking about the longest of shots. The Bearcats could buck the trend, but the odds favor them ending up like every other Group of 5 playoff hopeful: on the outside looking in.

And so it begins, and I'm not sure a vastly overrated domer team is in a position to stop the madness.

Straight from EleveWarriors. How many heads are exploding realizing Cincinnati may be a better team this year?

"I’m trying to understand why many of you think this is a good Ohio State football team. It’s not! Ninth is a gift. They’re not even a top 25 team. Can’t win games giving up 35 points and miles of rushing yardage. One thing is for sure the Buckeyes are not the best college football team in the state, Cincinnati is."
All the chatter from Columbus is mildly amusing and I never mind seeing the mighty humbled. We need three more weeks (two more wins) to make a case for being the best team in OH. Until then, I'll silently enjoy watching their fans squirm in hopes that UC remains undefeated. If that plays out, let the smack talk from Bearcat fans be heard all across the state.

I swear to God, if a one-loss Ohio State team gets in over an undefeated juggalo team, I will end up in the emergency room with an erection that has lasted longer then four hours.

OK, just for the sake of discussion, let's say the Bearcats go undefeated beating Notre Dame by 14, while Ohio State needs two overtimes to get by Indiana, wins The Game when Michigan misses a chip shot field goal as time runs out, beats Wisky - who has lost to Notre Dame by 21 - in the CCG - on a last-second field goal.

I know the TV people will pull their hair out if the Bearcats are picked, but the rest of the media will be in full rage.

Fairness is not the issue here. Fucking over the juggalos is the issue, Dude.
