Cincinnati Bearcats (official thread)

Mick Cronin was especially angry looking at yesterday's game, really blew his lid time after time. And he's got this to show for it:
TV Ted was talked about in the college basketball thread and he is very lucky that Cronin did not deck him. I can imagine what might happen if TV would have done that to some other coaches and just think what might have happened to him if he had done that to Coach K or Self or one of the Kentucky boys. I do not know how much longer he wants to officiate but this might be the beginning of the end for him. He just cannot treat coaches In that type of manner.

Bear kittens could've eliminated UConn from NCAA consideration but didn't get the job done in the American quarters.

A lengthy, but interesting, article describing the corrupt world of basketball recruiting in the late 70's, from the viewpoint of someone who was an assistant at UC.

http://www.cincinnati.com/story/spo...confessions-college-hoops-slimeball/77318732/

This guy was a real slime ball. Just one of the many examples:

"Once, while teaching a basketball class at Cincinnati, Hmiel says he assigned an athlete in another sport a D grade for B-quality work to accommodate a coach eager to free up a scholarship. Another time, as the basketball team's academic adviser, Hmiel deliberately overscheduled a player until he became academically ineligible and transferred."
