I don't like the Carman pick at all as everyone else said. It's just maddening that Cincy could have had Jenkins or Little, but trade back and lose that opportunity. Then we could take Radunz, but pick a tweener tackle/ guard with many issues. Reiff better be the answer at left tackle or else we failed to address what is easily the biggest area of need.

That said, love the Ossai pick in the 3rd, some were giving him a 1st round grade. Shelvin in the 4th was also a steal and we needed a big DT like him with Atkins on the way out. Not sure on the OL from East Carolina, but Mel was saying he could see him being a starting LT down the road with some development. And a kicker in the 5th, wtf?

Loved the Trey Hill pick at center, solid long time starter at Georgia that could contend for the starting spot immediately. Might have been one of the better picks of the draft. Chris Evans at RB was a waste imo as the second pick in the 6th, and no idea on the DE from Kansas State but with Jonathan Cooper going a few picks later, I can't help to not like passing on Cooper.

All in all, I give our draft a C- because of the first couple picks. The first two picks could have went Sewell and Rondale Moore, which to me would have been perfect to address needs with big talent. And mind you we could have made that trade with NE and still have landed Moore. The draft can be a crapshoot and I'll hope for the best, but this was not a great effort imo. Ossai, Shelvin and Hill were all very good picks. The rest I'm not really in on. Looking back on Chase, I do think he's legit and I look forward to seeing him play, I think he'll develop into one of the better receivers in the league and it does give us a crazy good trio at receiver. But Reiff better get it done at left tackle or we fucked up this draft.

Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow, who underwent reconstructive left knee surgery in December, is "all systems go" for the Sept. 12 regular-season opener against the Minnesota Vikings, according to Dr. Neal ElAttrache of Kerlan-Jobe in Los Angeles.

"He's on track for full go for start of the season," ElAttrache, who operated on Burrow in December, wrote in a text. "He's doing all the work. He's worked his tail off and been an amazingly mature participant in his recovery. He's focused and great to work with."

Oh, I have lots of respect for his skill. But the Bengals failed to make any substantive additions to the offensive line that would make me believe he can remain upright for most of the season.

It 100% hinges on Reiff imo. He was solid at Minnesota and I'm cautiously optimistic he'll get the job done. I think Jonah Williams is solid at RT and Sua Filo is a great guard if healthy. Some combo of Hopkins, M Jordan and Hill should work inside. Carman will take at least a year to develop imo. That said, the depth is razor thin. One injury and we're in trouble.
