Cincinnati Bengals (Just Burrow In)

Lol. That’s funny and true. But boy o boy with Ridley being an actual outside receiver with AJ.. but we need Ol help. Bad bad badly.
It's just a shame they took Ross last year. Imagine if they had grabbed Hooker (who they should have drafted based on need) or Lattimore.. Now they would have been alright picking up a skill position player in Ridley in the First, and still had some unbelievably solid Offensive Lineman prospects with the 2nd Round Pick.

Can't imagine any Bengals fans would be upset about Billy Price.

Well, maybe a few juggalos...

It's an immediate and HUGE upgrade to the interior of the Offensive Line. I have absolutely zero problems with the pick, especially after the Cordy Glenn trade. I'm cautious in saying this, but the Bengals are actually making smart moves this off-season.

2nd what this guy said. Our FA was methodical and well placed...not sure where it came from.

So here is why this pick is the best 1st round pick the Bengals have had (and bear with me). I have some reasons:

(1) First, the Bengals needed a center after letting Bodine loose. Bodine was awful and we needed a change there, At the worst, Price is slightly better than the next guy. I might be wrong, but I honestly think were are all set.

I will be truly shocked if Price is somehow worse than Bodine. Price has been so versatile (being able to play any interior position), and up until his Combine injury, has had an injury free career. The Bengals didn’t go with someone with injury history or the flashiest player available, and hit it out of the park.

Still tons of Offensive Line talent available for their 14th pick in the 2nd Round, and an early 3rd Round Pick to start addressing the other side of the ball.

Agreed 100%. I'm absolutely thrilled with this pick and even non-OSU fans of the team should be. As you mentioned, Price is extremely versatile and has no injury history except for the mishap at the combine, which I'm not concerned about at all. He is a 4 year starter and Rimington winner that has dominated at the highest level. His strength and athleticism is off the charts and I think he comes in and starts from day 1, which is what we needed.

Some might say this was a trad too high for a center, but I would strongly disagree. Ragnow was selected at 20 and there was the possibility for a run on centers. If we don't take Price at 21, he's gone in the 1st imo. It doesn't matter who you take in the 1st, it matters what they produce. In Price, I think you get a 10-15 year solid starter at minimum and honestly, I think he has the upside to be a Pro Bowler many, many years. His floor alone is 1st round pick worthy in my eyes. And with how the draft shook out, I see us being able to fill a big need in round 2 (either OT or LB).

I'm in unfamiliar territory here but between the additions in free agency and the first pick, the Bengals have knocked it out of the park. Picking up Glenn at LT and Brown at LB was huge for addressing areas of concern. Adding Price makes for what could be an incredible OL next year. Personally, I would like to see us go LB next round and get someone ready to replace Burfict, we need to shed him after this year. And I've seen mocks with us getting Orlando Brown as late as the 4th, but he would be an awesome grab with the first pick in the 3rd round.

Not sure who the safety is that we took in the 2nd, so can't judge that. But moving back and getting Sam Hubbard and Malik Jefferson back to back in the 3rd is the definition of crushing it. So excited to have Hubbard in the fold, I think he could wind up being the best DE in this entire draft and we got him in the 3rd. And Jefferson is legit, that is a huge pickup at an area of need at LB. Not sure who this team is this offseason, but they need to keep doing this. They're making all the right moves right now. And it's music to my ears to hear 2 Buckeyes called in the first 3 rounds, about time.
