I can't believe my eyes, I still think a flag will get thrown around midnight tonight that overturns the win. But if it holds, it supports my position that this team can't even get losing right...we aren't going to get a top 5 pick or fire Lewis if we win enough games to be mediocre again.

When did you start being a fan of Cincinnati pro sports?

I ask because you seem surprised at this and, well, this is just what they do.

It's like a Yankee fan being surprised when he sees his team wearing pinstripes.

Oh not surprised at all, I've been a fan since the day I was born (1988). But at least in the 90's they lost enough games to get a top 5 pick consistently.

  • I grew up in Dayton in the Fifties and Sixties. Pfeiffer Beer - in the Imperial Quart - another half-glass bigger than the US quart - brought us the World Chamipon Browns. Otto, Mac Speedie, Lou the Toe, Bill Willis, Horace Gillam (for whom the best NFL punter award should be named) became Jim Brown, Milt Plum, Bobby Mitchell, Gary Collins, "Dirty" Erich Barnes, who became Bernie Kozar, LeRoy Keyes, Tom Cousineau, Enrest Byer and the unforgettable Fair Hooker - yeah, look that up in your Funk and Wagnalls -
And then, 50 years ago, Paul Brown bought his way back into the NFL and the Bengals were given Dayton and Columbus as "their" market and the world of NFL football in Ohio has been one steady slide to shitdom ever since.

I hate the Bengals and I blame the decline of the Browns and the rise of the Steelers on Mikey Brown and his minions.

I was just reading about that. Lewis' response was "the calls are the calls".

Again, football doesn't take genius and some of the coaches really makes life a lot harder on themselves. 2 total carries in the 3rd QTR?!? Christ....

Play calling was mind numbing...Mixon and Green all fucking day, how hard is that to figure out? Like, not even the Bengals should be able to. I am only really pissed on this one because I hate Shittsburgh so much and want to beat them even if we are no good and not reaching the playoffs...they are my state up north of the NFL.
